God I feel sick after witnessing that. At least we lost by a substancial margin, no chance for the management to hide behind "bad luck". No point in going through who played well and who played badly. Everyone played awfully. Tonight we are the joke of Europe.

I've never liked Kahn, but always respected him. He didn't deserve that.

I don't get shit what you're trying to say. Do you think Zenit are a bunch of poor bastards who can't afford to pay their players a descent salary? They aint't Cottbus dude.

IDK about that. Zenit were just more motivated today, plus playing in Russia is not easy for anyone.
I really wanted to see Bayern vs. Viola in the final, oh well.

Heck, if Zenit can keep the core of their squad together, they're gonna do this to a number of clubs in next year's CL. They played good attacking football all tournament long.

I guess my Pearl Harbor/Animal House reference opened the door for ridiculous WWII comparisons.

just saw the scoreline. WOW. that will sour everything else.

keep hope alive, though. Bayern has some talent that it hasn't had since the days of Effenberg/Elber, and this will provide a wake-up call about certain positions (DM), as well as the underacheiving germans in the squad. Hopefully, there will be some additional turnover this offseason, continuing to build on Toni/Ribery/Micho.

let Lahm go and get something big for him. pull another "hargreaves" on 'em.

Sadly.:( I'm begining to afraid from the CL next season. Even if we had won in the first leg 2:0 it wouldn't be enough. Amazing how a team of stars and so much money lose this way in this stage of European cup. Somewhat, I had a feeling we won't go through. I've watched almost all of Bayern's games this season and I knew out tactics sucks + Some palyers didn't fit well (Klose).

I hope Klose won't end up like Thierry Henry... \:

No need for people to come on here and rub salt in the wound. We are hurting enought.

But the defeat has exposed all of the things that the weakness of the bundesliga has allowed us to get away with:

    - Two defensive midfielders that don't know their responsibilities.
    - A fossil goalkeeper who is only being played because he has been with the club for so long.
    - Hitzfelds lack of ability to keep players on side. If Hitzfeld had kept Sagnol sweet then Jansen would not have played and he was really really awful.
    - Our weakness in terms of playmakers - we need a playmaker in the center of midfield.
    - Our weakness on Right Midfield - Schweinsteiger is no good.

Yes Hitzfeld HAS been successful but really this season he has done the bare minimum considering the amount of money invested in the team.

Hey guys, people keep mentioning that this loss is a perfect display as to why the Bundesliga is subpar (Some even going as far to suggest that Germany should be stripped of a CL spot)

My question is, how do you guys explain Schalke's performance in Champions League? Now, I'm not very familiar with the Bundesliga at all, this is simply an honest question as I was particularly impressed at Schalke this year (I thought they outplayed Barcelona) so I wanted to know what your guys' opinion was (Since you're more familiar with German soccer). Thanks in advance!

Relax about the Russian fans. When was the last time the Russians won anything? Sharapova had to come to America to make the jump.

The Russians have had bigger problems than subpar football, so a dog finds a bone this time.
