I was named by a computer - no lie. Long ago, I was a Prodigy user (my first ISP). Prodigy had its own clumsy e-mail system and had its own spell checker. One day I was sending my e-mail address to someone. My name on my real e-mail address is (unimaginatively) my first initial followed by my last name. The Prodigy spell-checker rendered my e-mail address name as, "cadaver." That was as close as it could come to my real name. So it stuck. And the fact that I am an old fart just made it that much more appropriate.
I'm not as clever as some of you all and hence, when I signed up, I simply chose my first initial C and then my family name Leschke. I figured Leschke is unique enough anyway. Most people cant even say it correctly anyhow.......
I'm a developer of software, mainly on Windows systems using the .NET technologies. It's pronounced "Dot Net" so in a admittedly weak connection, I wanted to refer to myself as .MPP (My initials) but have people call me "Dot M.P.P.". Instead most people just call me "Dot"
If you can't figure out my name, shoot yourself. Actually, the funny thing is that people always ask if it's my real name or a stage name. I usually just look at them and claim, "No, it's my stripper name." Thomas Colin Mack PS: How have you been, paTRICKHOGan?
Aw, man, you gave it away. Things are good. I've got to come stand with the Squad one game this season. Think I'll be welcomed at the LARS tail-gate if I bring a case of Newcastle and inconspicious plastic cups?
A little bit of trivia on Newcastle Brown Ale as i live about 30 miles south of its birthplace, although still a strong brew its been toned down from the nutty juice it was 40 years ago, too many people were ending up in casualty or psychiatric wards, thats the truth. If you are a native of Newcastle or a geordie nugget as i refer to them, when ordering a bottle of newcastle in a bar you would ask for a' bottle of dog' forgot why, but thats what a true geordie born on the banks of the tyne would ask for. You might say i am going down town for a drink, a geordie would say 'ganning doon toon' thats why there fans are known as the toon army. 35 miles away and the change in dialect is unreal.
Nothing genius here, but you already knew that by reading my posts. Jeff Scott, my birthdate is the 23rd, and the number I have worn longer than Micheal Jordan. Yea, I'm an old fart too.
Tifoso, which means one with typhoid fever, which is what they call rabid fans (of anything: calcio, F1, etc) in Italia.
The dog thing comes from men on Tyneside telling the wives they were going to see "a man about a dog" when going out to the clubs and pubs to partake in a few Broons. Anyway pointless trivia about Newcy Broon from a self-confessed Geordie Nugget. You Smoggie get . Since I'm back here... Hello, How do you like this formation? ----Babayaro----------Babayaro----- -------------Babayaro--------------- --Babayaro--------------Babayaro--- ------------Babayaro---------------- Babayaro-----------------Babayaro-- ---------Babayaro----X-------------- ------------Beckham-----------------
I'm going to be studying at Durham University next year, up in your neck of the woods I suppose. I have heard about the accents, according to some its the thickest accent in all of England. I'm more worried about the weather though, I get cold on spring nights in the HDC.
CDM76 - Center Defensive Mid (my position) 76 - year I started playing soccer (although I started out as a keeper). Guess I just like being in the middle of it all and talking a lot. You'd never guess from my posts.
I'm a Galaxy fan. I live in LA. And I picked the screen name based on how I felt about the team when I joined BS. But then I'm a pretty grumpy bastard most of the time anyway.
Jade1MLS I hear that she now turned into a Sounders fan, since she lives in Seattle. She was definately annoying, loved to talk smack and glorified DC United as the biggest club in MLS and the world, it wont be long until she starts logging back in and claiming that the Sounders are a super club blah, blah, blah...
Engnorway, or rather Eng, Norway, is the village my family comes from. Way back in the day families would settle in a location and as or if it grew into a village it became known by the name of the family who "settled" it. You can still go to Eng, Norway and visit my family's farm and our church and see the grave stones for people from nearly 300 years ago. And of course visit all the Engs who did not come to America. Which there are far more of than those who did come. But so anyway, though my last name is Eng I am not Asian, I am Norwegian.
