I think I scared the bartender during the second half. Greatly entertaining match, though I'm glad to be back to breathing normally.

    Thank you for the congrats.

I'm gonna have to be honest here and agree with you pending my reviewing of both penalty "situations".

ESPN2 only replayed it once and it looked very similar to Hleb's situation last week.

But different referees in different games means different calls so I don't feel Arsenal were cheated in any way. It's just the way it is.

    Until we get Robot refs.

Great! We go from a great 2 leg match against Arsenal to now a snooze fest against Chelsea. Guess we should start practicing our PK's.

I am actually shaking from exhaustion.

    What. A. Game.

I take back every bad thought I ever had about Kuyt, who was immense tonight.

Me too! We can seriously do better, but as it is he is pulling up trumps. Hail Rafa!

What a game. Boys did us proud. If we had gone out to that ************ goal I would have stopped watching football. Justice was done.

Not sure why my comment was deleted as I simply said, Senderos is the worst defender I have ever seen at this level.

The feeling is more than mutual :D

Oh and as an after thought... it wasn't a penalty, just like the last one wasn't

    Me too.

I wish more games were on in the states/wish I had Setanta so I could game-post here(this board) more often.

I actually called my dad (lifelong liverpool fan who's been to FA Cup and European Cup finals) to make sure he wasn't having a heart attack.
    :D

    Ding! Ding! Ding!

That was the response I was waiting for some sensible person to make.

    It balances in the end...

    There it is.

Wow what a game, words can't do the emotions of Liverpool fans justice at the moment...simply exhilerating game! I thought we were dead and buried after Adebayor equalized but Babel came in as a supersub and created one and scored another. Stevie G. was f'n brilliant under preasure and converted with the utmost of confidence. Sami is a legend and still one of the most dangerous CB's on set pieces. And you can't say enough about Torres. He had a stinker of a first half but really stepped it up in the second and scored yet another brilliant goal to add to his already brilliant bunch this season.

The spirit, determination and composure of this team to get back into a game after being behind continues to amaze me. Our defense was brilliant at points and real disoriented at others. I felt we were very nervous starting out but Arsenal usually slow down after going full gear at the beginning. We started to control the game gradually and built upon that. It was still difficult for us to deal with Arsenal's pace and it cost us.

What are the odds that we'll beat chelsea a third time in the semis in four years??? I think I'm going to go nuts up to and during those games.

Well, we may not have played well, but we still won.

It is all about the "W!!!", so boo on all you bitter Arsenal fans. And cheers to all of you righteous Arsenal fans, go on and win the league, we will take care of the Chavs and Scum in the UCL.

I'll have to take your word for it dude. I was watching our game. In any case, you mean the same as the goal a couple of years ago? ;)

Seriously, though, I just hope we get a decent ref this time because it would be nice if these things were decided by the players rather than some fella with a whistle or a flag.

Where was the ref from in tonights game for you and the LeArse?

Ridiculous. I had to miss the second half because of a Spanish test and I missed that!?

Could someone do me a big favor and find some links to the goals? Or at the least tell me a website where I could find them.

    This day is officially awesome.

Yeah, I think I know the fella. He's pretty good. It's gonna be a problem for EUFA having to find refs for all these EPL v. EPL games.

Well, not finding them as such but finding ones who have some idea how the games played over here.

Oh, I know, and like I said I feel the ref did a fine job tonight. If anything it simply points out the need to improve ref training and as one other poster said (here?) that it might be nice to have the same ref for both legs of a tie. Thats all.

Either way, just don't let Chelski win a trophy. Cheers.

I'd rather them keep finding referees who aren't completely familiar with the EPL style. I think it's pretty obvious that the continental style suits our team and our coaches style more than the English style of play.

Good bar, except for the Manu fans. Outnumbered were we? No mind to that we prevailed at the end.

    Honest Sires:

While we are all delighted with the result from this fine day's footballing challenge, one aspect of the match troubles me: exhaustion.

No, I do not refer to the exhaustion expressed by many on this thread who, as passionate supporters, participate in--not merely witness--the event.

Rather, I refer to the slow legs throughout the second half.

More times than I can count, Liverpool players were not up to the task. Clearly, the chasing they did during the first half cost them dearly. When Gerrard lined up for the penalty, I cringed at the thought of his heavy legs betraying him.

Mercifully, their hearts were strong, Babel proved a valuable substitution, and good triumphed over evil. But I am deeply concerned about the remaining fixtures.

    There it is.

    Note to my fellow Gooners:
Don't whine. Every club gets breaks
    their way and against them.

Lose with class...I know it sucks, but that's life.

Speaking of being tired, I thought Alonso was the biggest victim of being over fatigued. I thought he was very disapointing tonight. He was way too negligent with his passing and covering. At one point Arsenal made an overlapping run and Carra screamed at Xabi to cover the runner, he failed and a dangerous cross was sent in. He made numerous misspasses and had to be bailed out by Masch on missed tackles and interceptions. I thought Rafa was going to replace him with Lucas but it never happened.

I'm beginning to doubt whether he can regain his pre-injury form for us. He has been inconsistent since he came back and can be a big liability for us from here on out.
