Re: What do you think of Seattle's team name? *sigh* So now Seattle has two football teams? I don't get it. We play soccer and / or football. What is so difficult about that? Is "Soccer" a bad word?
Its great the owners listened to the fans.... Sounders it is. I like the name, always have. I hope it lays the foundation for the Whitecaps and Timbers someday.
Re: What do you think of Seattle's team name? Seattle Sounders S.C. would be a pain to say all the time (so many 's' sounds!)
Now that Seattle Sounders FC is the name of the club I beg everyone to call it just Seattle Sounders because what other kind of club would it be anyway? Could you imagine an announcer saying "Corner to Leeds United Association Football Club" ten times a match? The FC is great. But in many ways it's superfluous.
Congratulations Seattle for rallying support to preserve your soccer heritage and traditional name! .....phew, that was hard to type. Now I can resume my hatred of your team, city, and inferior brand of football, guilt free. Although, "******** the Republic" had some nice consonance to it. Hopefully the press coverage for the "name change" will remind Shittleites that there is already a team playing with that very name, in the very stadium the FC usurpers plan on using. RCTID
Re: What do you think of Seattle's team name? Excellent choice. I even like the FC suffix. To everyone who wants SC instead of FC: The idea is to have a name that people around the world will recognize as a soccer (football, futbol) team. FC does that. If you make it "SC" people will be scratching their heads. What does that mean? Sh*t Cookies? Huh? The FC is for global recognition. And the FC doesn't have to be used by the fans. I know teams in England, for example, simply as Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea... I never add the FC at the end. So this team will be Seattle Sounders, or simply, Sounders.
Re: What do you think of Seattle's team name? No it is just a lot of people on bigsoccer have this wet dream that they will get to brush their teeth every morning with an English wang if they say football instead of soccer.
Re: What do you think of Seattle's team name? I think their fan club should be The Space Needlers and be really obnoxious to the opposing fans by "needling" them.
Re: What do you think of Seattle's team name? Can you imagine Cindy Brady trying to say that? "Theattle Thounders Eth Thee!!!" So will they be like Rangers FC, who are sometimes called the Gers. Sounders FC...The "Ders"? I like the final outcome. Congrats to you Seattle diehards.
Re: What do you think of Seattle's team name? Are they retaining the USL-1 Sounder's history such as keeping up past USL championship banners, basically acknowledging their accomplishments? I think it'd be cool if they kept stars on their jerseys to honor the USL championships they've won but I doubt they'll do that. I'd suspect they would consider this a completely new organization/team that just so happens to have the same name.
Re: What do you think of Seattle's team name? I am just fine with the name, would have been fine with Seattle FC or Seattle Sounders, so together they work well too. I am however tired of the we play soccer so why not SC question/argument. Please before you post that crap again look up the origin of the word Soccer. FC is not in appropriate, and yes it is still football (Soccer) that we (Seattle Sounders FC) will be playing.
Re: Seattle name/logo/colors announced today At least you could defend yourself with it if you had to.
I love the name and have no problem with the colors or badge. I imagine we'll see kits mostly in blue with green highlights -- which is a Seattle tradition just as the name "Sounders" is a Seattle tradition, and the use of the Space Needle in logos. History, and longtime fans of soccer in Seattle, won a big, big victory today.
How about a green uniform. We haven't had one of those in quite a while. We have enough blue. Maybe like Werder Bremen's http://www.soccer.com/IWCatProductP...t_Id=303397&Key_id=&SearchQuery=Werder Bremen but a little bit darker. More Forest Green. Maybe like Wolfsburg http://www.vflwolfsburg.de/50324.html Nothing too raz-ma-taz though. This isn't 1996.
LA and Colorado's were both designed by SME Global Branding out of New York. The Seattle logo was designed by DNA branding, a company in Seattle.

Re: What do you think of Seattle's team name? If the Seattle Fans like, then I like it. (and even if they didn't like, i'd be happy with it.)
