    it's gotta be the same designer that did LA, Houston, and Toronto.

    Dull, acres of dead space - but solid, bold, and easy to recognize.

    Joe Roth: 82% of the votes were for some variation of Sounders

    82% of the votes were for some version of Seattle Sounders or Seattle FC. Apparently Seattle Alliance and Seattle Republic were DOA.

    As a long-time San Jose Earthquakes fan and a fan of American soccer in general, I'm damn proud of everyone who rightfully fought and didn't give up to preserve the correct name (even with an FC attached) for Seattle's MLS team! :cool:

    Congratulations to Seattle Sounders FC and to its fans! I absolutely can't wait for the first San Jose Earthquakes - Seattle Sounders FC game in 2009! :D

    Its nice to hear owners who are interested in upping the ante and investing money in the product on the field. The last thing this league needs is another Kroenke.

    I would think pretty easily, misspellings.. placement of Seattle in the name before or after or lack of city name (ex. Sounders FC) , variations of Club "type", AC/FC/SC, even the pluralization of Sounders (ex. Seattle Sounder SC)... mix them all together. 24 sounds easy

    edit: also like number 22 said... even region name, or variations on city name.

    Variants like: Sounders, Sounders FC, Seattle Sounders, Seattle Sounders FC... it's easy.

    Not to mention misspellings.

    So the verdict is out.

    Seattle Sounders FC

    To me this looks like a compromise between a very passionate fan base and MLS wanting to stick their stamp on it with the "FC."

    Garber: "Well okay guys, you all are obviously really really adamant about the 'Sounders' name being used here, but I'm not going to let you just have the name like that! I want to have a say too! I'm going to slap a FC on it so one day I can look back and say 'Hey, I contributed.'" :rolleyes:

    I'm interested to know what Seattle fans feel about this. Alright compromise? Tacky display of stamping a name just to make it a little different? Discuss.

    I'm aware probably 973 threads about this probably exist on this site somewhere. I'm lazy.

    Even though I'm a Toronto fan, I'm just happy to see "Sounders" stay, one way or another. Actually, I like it better than just plain ol' "Seattle Sounders". Thumbs up!

    The email I received from the FO said "over 14,500 fans registered their vote" - given how many ticket deposits they have and how many "others" like us here at BigSoccer voted, there's a whole pile of ticket deposit folks who are just happy to have a team.

    They (the Seattle fans, media, etc.) could also simply just go with Sounders even if the official name is Sounders FC. The official name of the Montreal Impact is Montreal Impact FC but no one ever calls them anything but the Impact. I'm sure there are other examples out there.
