lol this article describes why arsenal have never and probably will never be european champions, its a totally different animal to the epl. did anyone see how Arsenal got there a few years ago, ********in houllier football, villareal battered them
This is the same journalist who wrote a piece criticising Rafa 2 days after we beat Besiktas 8-0. Basically he has already decided that Rafa should stop rotating. The results of the games themselves are ignored in order to continue with attempting to further his agenda.
It is to help the pitch recover - playing on the day after the Milan-Arsenal match could have caused problems with the pitch.
How embarrassing, I'm not a homophile but this guy is a little over the top proclaiming his love and lust for a whole football team. Should have stayed with the don't ask don't tell" thingy. Reminds me of ads by Avis a few years back that went something like. "We're Number 2 and proud of it." and "We try harder." Perhaps he should visit Arsenal's International trophy case. It would only take 2 seconds of his day, including photographs. He's really letting his inferiority complex get to him. Dr Phil, where are you?
Well, then Gerrard needs to pull his head out of his ass when he plays then. Because, in two years, he's not going to be able to run around and smash the ball into the net at will like he sometimes can. He may actually have to think about what he is doing on the field sometime.
"'We believed we had the players to challenge for the title," I love him for what he's done and won for the the club and the thrills he's given me but the above quote is why one should never listen to footballers about much. He also thought England had the team to win in Germany and get into Ausswisstria. In all those cases he was wrong. The idea that we could bring in Babel, Voronin, Benayoun, Lucas and Torres at the same time and push forward to win was silly. Next year perhaps, but not this year. We still had holes at LB and RW. I also agree with you that there have been a lot of games where Stevie's interest and desire seemed missing. He's got to step up and be the Captain we know he can be.
To be fair to Gerrard, he is not one of the players who have failed to deliver this season. He had a mediocre month after his broken toe but has now come on and scored 17 goals for us. It is certain other players who have underperformed this season. Kuyt, Riise, Crouch, Alonso, Finnan, Kewell and Sissoko have all be guilty of not delivering performances of sufficient quality on occasion this season. He has rightly said he is unhappy and this should motivate the players to perform. Alternatively he could sit down and cry in public but I am not convinced that is an effective motivator!
Drool... ____________Reina (25)__________ RB____Skrtel (23)__Agger (23)____LB _____Masch (23)___Xabi (26)______ RW________Gerrard (27)____Babel (21) ___________Torres (23)__________ OUR FUTURE...again...drool...our captain will probably still have 5 years left in him...5 YEARS!!! Xabi and SG are veterans at only 26 and 27 respectively...its very exciting...something that all great clubs will always be. We are battling for fourth place, we have had numerous long-term interruptive injuries and poor form over christmas/january and in the middle of the season...yet this season is still very exciting given we havent reached our potential yet IMO.
A heretical article in the Irish Indy. http://www.independent.ie/sport/oth...-rotating-the-knife-into-benitez-1318987.html
Bit strange that Henchoz story. For example, if you take Rooney and Ronaldo out of the skanks' team or Adebayor and Fabregas from the Gunners, what do you get? Probably a team lying 6th or 7th at best. Now, I actually think he was selectively quoted simply to put the boot in to Liverpool as is the press's wont these days.
