his goal for brasil on his debut, gorgeous and clever! he blocks the keepers clearance on the right just outside the pentalty box and quickly turns around to chip it into the net. we need to splash some cash for this boy! he's doing the same thing for milan. wonder where they would be in their league if he wasn't scoring goals for them!

oh and anyone see holland/austria? wow 3-0 down to win it!

That sounds sexy, about buying Pato we probablly have a better chance of getting Kaka then him.

The Spanish team looks like they're playing together for the first time in their life.

Portugal lost 1-2 to Greece, very experimental squad, but still some very worrying stuff from the Portuguese team.

Where on earth would they be without his mind boggling 7 goals. Yes, 7 entire goals. Move over Torres and Ronaldo. You need to get over yourself and stop drooling over every player has a good game.

About his goal: How hard is it to shoot/lob into a empty goal?

7 goals may not be much, but isn't that since January when he was eligible to play?

Not bad if you ask me !Annonymouse

Does anybody knows how the banner that hangs in the Bernabéu goes about Raul?

It hangs on first or second anfiteatro and it says something like, Luis (don't be in Spanish) Cabezon?? Raul en la seleccion

yeah ok but still watching that replay he did a good job composing himself immediately after seeing the ball drop at his feet and getting a shot off with that kind of angle and defender sticking his leg out trying to block him.

That wasn't as easy as you make it sound, it was
    off a turn
    off a bounce
    with his opposite foot
    at a tight angle
    under pressure

Open net shots like that get missed constantly.

Holland destroyed Austria in the second half, scoring three goals. Huntelaar played a very sharp game, but don't think topclubs are getting hotter about him just yet.

At a guess..."Luis, cabrón, Raúl selección" ...to copy the "Clemente cabrón, Michel selección" banners from '94

...and Cannavaro's assist was a lot worse than the swedish goalkeeper's.
