Actually I think it would be Feilzinho. :) But that's still too bulky so sorry... he might just be called "Zinho"... not unlike a certain Brazilian that played for Mexico. If he grew up in Brazil though and had nicknames, you know what he would probably be called? "Benny" Anti-climatic, probably not as romantic as some would like but... yeah... :D

After featuring the Nigerian Olisadebe in 2002 you'd think a young Brazilian who might not even play wouldn't elicit as much resistence.

Why? Olisadebe was a legitimate polak, married to a Polish broad, and having lived in Poland for a number of years prior to becoming a citizen. This Roger has been only in Poland for two years and has no other ties to the country. He allegedly has a Polish gilrfriend, but merely sleeping with someone should not give you citizenship.

Big news came out today Roberto Acquafresca may be called up to the Polish squad by Beenhakker if everything goes well.

    He's got dual Polish/Itallien citizenship.
    Age : 20 years
    Club : Cagliari
    Division: Serie A
    Goals : 4

Last year he scored 11 goals in Serie B, he's a hudge talent and is owned by
    Inter Milan.

Seriously if this goes through we will have one potent Strike Force, with more firepower coming of the bench.
Ebi Smolarek (Racing Santander) AGE - 27
    Roberto Acquafresca (Cagliari/Inter Milan) AGE - 20
Tomasz Zahorski (Górnik Zabrze) AGE - 23
Maciej Żurawski (AE Larissa) AGE - 31
Łukasz Piszczek (Hertha Berlin) AGE - 22
Radosław Matusiak (Wisła Kraków) AGE - 26
Paweł Brożek (Wisła Kraków) AGE - 24
Dawid Janczyk (CSKA Moskwa) AGE - 20

The sheer amount of young talented Strikers that we have is Sick. I hope he gets capped in the US game, him Janczyk, Brozek, Zahorski and Piszczek are our future.

Dude, those stadiums are built solely for 2012 European Championships and besides a stadium in Poznan and in Warsaw will probably be downsized after the event. Also, I doubt you can call Slaski Stadium a home ground for Ruch Chorzow, unless of course they are building a brand new stadium in the future that I didn't know about. Usually in Poland there is a lot of talk and no work done. They still need to build stadiums, hotels, highways, airport terminals and bunch of other stuff before 2012 just to accomodate Euro 2012 and not totally f**k up.

Wisla Krakow in Champions League? I'd like some of that stuff you are smoking. I heard this for the past 10 years and nothing happened and nothing will. As soon as those national team players get better offers they will jump the ship as it has always happened. Not to mention that after few failures, owners will try to sell those players as soon as good offer from Bundesliga shows up on a table.

As for the game itself. Poland should win this one with Leo in charge. Although I wouldn't be surprised if it ends tied.

and yes... Roger will not play. Even if he gets his passport in time and does play I doubt he will go to the Euros.

Their not going to dismantle the stadiums, at least try to keep up with the current events in Poland. WHy would you waste money building Stadia and then dismantle them? get psychological help please. Ruch CHorzow is using the Slaski Stadium for bigger games already and they are filling the Slaski, but theres work going on and it will be upgraded so they can use it just as long as nothing is being worked on. They will get Slaski after it is finished, Ruch does not have the money to build their own stadium.... and why would they want to when they can use the one thats already there.

Lechia will get Baltic Arena, Slask Wroclaw merged with Gorlicn and they will use the Stadium that is being bult there. Lech is filling their stadium and they will get an upgrade when the Poznan stadium is completed, Wisla is building theirs. Legia will probably get the National Stadium, i doubt they will build one of their own when they can get one essentialy for free.

Because of the new infustructure our League has gotten better, we are producing player in EK that can play in our NT now. Not only do they play in NT but they play in our League, many players are staying.

WIsla Krakow is strong now, look at their line up and the other teams in EK they are filled with players who played in NT. I am not saying Wisla will win Championship League but our League is changing rapidly, we have 6 or 7 ambitious clubs who have money now, and they are not selling their players if they do it's for a ton of money because they cant afford to loose them with this much competition.

Roger wont be playing in the NT, reguardless of his passport and citizenship status we got better midfielders then Roger and at the moment I don't think he could break into our 23 man squad let alone the 11 man squad.

By the way our guy in Serie A scored 2 more goals today against FC Torino, that brings his tally to 6 goals total; he has 12 games left I hope he brings up his tally to over 10 goals. Hope he gets a call up from Beenhakker for the US game, and at the moment the entire Polish Media is in Frenzy over this.

Beenhakker sent a guy to watch the game today, this kid is good, he is developing in Italy has a dual citizenship Polish-Itallien not 21 yet and has not been capped by either Poland or Italy. I feel sorry for the kid, Euro's are pretty close and he has to make a decision, hope he chooses us over Italy it will be interesting.

By the way Rossi should have picked you guys, in Italy at the moment their Striker line up is stacked; Rossi is last in the pecking order and wont be considered in the NT for at least 4 or 5 years. He should have picked US, that would solve your striker problem as well as given him a chance to play in major competitions.

    Toni
    Gilardino
    di Natale
    Quagliarella
    Iaquinta
    Palladino

Having Rossi would definitely be a big boost to our NT but frankly I think Jozy may have a better upside than Rossi.

How exactly is Acquafresca eligible for Poland? Is his mother Polish?

It will be interesting to see what choice he makes, although I have to say that I think he'll stay with Italy. He has played for the Italian youth national teams at nearly every level and has done quite well with them so far.

Yes his mother is Polish, he has family in Poland, speaks polish and has 2 passports Polish-Itallien.

The media is freking out over this, in Poland and Italy, Italien media say that he will be ready to announce his decision in the next few days; if he has not already.

But at the moment it looks like he will play for Poland, well at least that's what the Itallien media seems to thinks.

    We will see what happeneds.

I believe I said DOWNSIZE. Maybe you should read first than suggest help.

You are painting a beautiful picture but truth is that people in Poland are already worried what is going to happen to those stadiums even with DOWNSIZED capacity as league games alone cannot even pay for taxes and service on them.

Nobody watches polish league. Do not confuse NT fans with Ekstraklasa fans. If there is 8000 paying customers per game that's great, sure there was 1 game at Slaski with Ruch-Gornik which packed the stadium but it is 1 game per season. Lech brings in fans so that's why average is around 8000, it would be even lower if not for them. Besides, those stadiums are being funded by government and city money NOT club money. So it means that teams will have to pay rent to play there. Nothing is free. So if let's say Lechia is in 2 division and gets 5000 fans per game do you really think they will pay to play at the stadium that seats 40k? I doubt it.

    Last round:

    Legia - 7k
    Lech - 16k
    Ruch - 15k
    Jagiellonia - 7k
    Cracovia - 4k
    Polonia - 4k
    Odra W - 2k
LKS - didnt say but let's say 5k

WOW that's 7.5 per game and how many of those tickets were free?

Polish soccer has long long way to go and it is not going to happen overnight. It appears that you are not living in reality but some imaginary world of yours.

As for Wisla. Good luck to them. I just read an article yesterday in polish paper that possible opponents in the final round before group stage might be:

Chelsea, Liverpool, Villarreal, Juventus, Panathinaikos, Hamburger SV, Ajax Amsterdam, Szachtar Donieck, Rapid Bukareszt, Besiktas, Spartak Moskwa, Atletico Madryt, Celtic, Basel, Olympiakos

and I don't see them beating any of those teams above but of course anything can happen ;)

Get a clue they are not going to downsize them, we need that infustructure for our league. Most of the stadiums except Korona and Slaski are outdated, and in terrible condition; those new stadiums that they are building will benefit
the league. Most of the stadiums that we have now can't hold that many people and they can't expand them if they want to, it would cost too much and it would not make financial sense. So it's just easier to build the stadiums from scratch and it's cheaper. Poznan, Krakow, Wroclaw and Gdansk can fill those stadiums easy, they're not that big were not building 90,000 seaters here.

for the league? those are not stadiums for the league. you are missing a point here.
if league teams want to play at those stadiums they will have to pay rent and at this time you don't need to pay rent for 40k stadium if you bring 10K per game. those are city properties and city will probably use them for concets and dozynki :)

if you need an example look at what events where at Slaski. NT games, concerts. Ruch plays there now because they coudn't get the proper license for their stadium to play in ekstraklasa. I believe this is temporary. Stadium Slaski is a company. They rent it out and orginze events. this is not Ruch's stadium and it will never be. Just like Soldier Field is a property of city of Chicago and Park District manages it. Fire played there but had to pay rent.

Lech Poznan owns the Land and the Stadium, Wisla Krakow as well, Legia has theirs and they will build their own. Slask Wroclaw and Lechia Gdansk will get theirs.

Your point is duly noted but you have no idea what you are talking about, you're essentialy blaming a team for filling an old stadium to 10k that is the capacity of most of these old stadiums. There's no room to expand, that's why
larger league games are held in Slaski stadium and these games have over 40,000 people who show up, last time Ruch vs. Widzew had well over 40,000 people who show up.

You're making a big deal essentially out of nothing, as if building new infustructure is somehow a bad thing. Bigger teams in the league need larger stadia, there's only 6 or 7 teams in the EK that can fill them; most other clubs will get stadiums closer to that of Korona Kielce.

Sorry, but you guys sound like a bunch of spazzos with all this arguing over Polish stadiums on a USMNT forum. I realize that Severyn is all excited about the future of our NT and the infrastructure, but I think our US hosts here couldn't care less.
