Im surprised that no one has brought up the issue of the "rigged" draw...the fact that someone posted this at 10:28am on Friday the 14th...90 MINUTES BEFORE THE DRAW!!!...is f***ed.

Gerrard is suspended for the first leg against Arsenal, is he not?

If so, who would play in his position? Alonso??? Benayoun???

I know rafa loves to mix up the lineup, is that a huge understatement.

I am wondering if he will rest Torres , Stevie G , Carragher , etc. during premiereship matches against Everton and Man U and I think we have Ars 3 times in a row so maybe we rest in the middle ?

Here is to a good entertaining tie over both legs.

I can't beleive some of you are already whining about Chelsea in the semi's. Talk about counting you chickens... :D

Believe me, nobody's taking anything for granted. It's more just complaining that, once again, it's setting up that way, while the Mancs miss all the other English sides.

Should be a very tough tie. You guys are very formidable anywhere, but especially at the Emirates.

Agreed. I didn't want 'Pool in the CL for the same reason.
Although I think Chelsea got a very tough draw with Fener.

Perhaps the most important CL match of the year is the league game against Everton. We allow them 3 points at Anfield and it might be UEFA Cup for us in 2008-09. No way Torres, Gerrard, Carra, etc. are watching the derby from a seat. No. Way.

What a thread to put this in. There is a Liverpool-Reading match thread here or are you hiding something?

I am also pondering that too.
Why haven't any official members of clubs made any statements?
Why hasn't there been any hint at possible investigations?

It seems like UEFA came out and made a statement regarding the chap on Echo.co.uk being a lucky guesser and everyone believed it.

Simply based on odds, I'd say something's fishy about this.

Sounds like the old Monty Python Routine "Nobody expects the Spanish Rafalution"

"Our chief goal is our abilty to stop Torres...no wait. Our Two chief goals are our ability to stop Torres, our ability to stop Gerrard and overcome Masherano..no no Wait Our Three..let me start again Our Three chief goals are our abilty to stop Torres Gerrard Masherano and get past Carrager to try and score on Riena Our Four no Five our Five chief Goals...Amongst our main Goals are...."

And a fanatical devotion to the french!! :D

I think the fact that we play them 3 times in a row will be advantage Liverpool. The league match isn't going to mean all that much to us, and it will still be Arsenal's top priority. Rafa will be 100% focused on beating them over 2 legs, and he won't want to give much away in the league match in between. I could imagine Arsenal kicking the shit out of us in the league match, yet we will be the team through to the semi-final.

I can imagine Everton's loss today will only make the league game more expendable to you guys now, no?

Anyway let's hope its more entertaining than those ties w/Chelsea you guys get every year.
