My oh my! Sir Rednose is not too happy with the referee's performance in his team's loss to Pompey. Nothing mentioned about his own team's performance. SAF seems to miss the fact that sometimes it's HIS team's fault that HIS team doesn't win. He probably didn't hear that with the prawn sandwiches stuffed in his ears.
With us beating Newcastle, the relegation race just got a bit more interesting. Right now, I would be willing to put a large sum of money on Fulham and Derby both being relegated. There are seven teams still in danger of taking that third spot. 4 points separate these seven teams. Boro - 29 Reading and Newcastle - 28 Wigan and Sunderland - 27 Birmingham - 26 Bolton - 25 I really do think that the teams above Bolton are very lucky that the Wanderers sold Anelka. Because with Anelka I think that they would avoid the drop, but I really don't see where their goals are going to come from. I think the other teams are also lucky, because there are a few quality managers within those seven teams. Coppell and Mcleish are both good managers, and Keane and Southgate are average managers. Newcastle looks dreadful and will only avoid the drop because teams will be worse than them, not because they will play better. They will continue to be terrible, but I just feel that Bolton and/or Wigan will be worse.
I must admit it gives me a smile. Perhaps the tabloids can work on getting Sir Rednose and Dracula fired for the next week.
The FA Cup (and the Europe spot that goes with it) is heading outside the Big 4 for the first time in quite a while!
I think Grant looks more like the original Phantom of the Opera, but I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks he resembles the undead...
So I wonder- since he made six changes from the last match- whether he'll be in for some criticism for rotating his side, or if it's only Rafa that gets that stick...
I watched the game, urging Barnsley to victory. My policy with all sports teams I support is to support the team that has beaten them in the playoffs. Giants beat the Packers, go Giants. Tigers beat the Twins, go Tigers. Sure, I change the rules around a little bit for soccer, because I would never support certain teams. How awesome would it be for Barnsley to make it into Europe? Very. BTW, I didn't think Barnsley would win, but I knew Odejayi would score, he was threatening all day.
Nope, just Rafa. The media already have their agenda on certain teams. Liverpool: Rotation and Ownership Chelsea: Moving away from the Mourinho era (attacking football, etc.) Arsenal: Not having Englishmen Man United: Sir Rednose and Crissy's penchant for being twats Oh wait, never mind that's my agenda
OMFG I've just got back from town. It was BOUNCING I am soooo happy right now!! My second team is on course for the FA CUP!!! ******** OFF CHELSEA FC!!!
The weird and whacky beauty of the single elimination Football Association Cup. Pompey and Barnsley at Wembley. Don't you just love it. especially when SARN had already cleared a space for the cup in his silver cabinet???!!!
He didn't take it well did he? What a temper tantrum about the refereeing. This coming from Sir Alex, no less! Now they're going to the media about Crissy not getting enough protection from the referees. I guess all the diving doesn't get what it used to.
