Capello won't play Brown again at rb, I don't believe. Bridge won't start ahead of Ashley Cole. He was not impressive against the Swiss..

Cappelo has only been in charge for one game so far, and i saw somewhat of a decent change. Stevie G is played out of position for England, but what we need is for him to be unleashed like he is for Liverpool. Bently had a good game against Switzerland and showed everybody that he is capable to cross and long pass with precision. Although I believe that Beckham belongs in the team. Yes, you can argue that he is not up with his match fitness, but you have to realize that he is still world class at his dead ball accuracy! France will be an interesting game for the mighty three lions and I belive that some serious changes at the back would be a great idea. Brown and Upson were so uncomfortable on the ball during the game against switzerland, if you think they will be able to stop Henry and Benzema, think again as these two are on fire right now. I hope England destroy France this coming month. ENGLAND FOREVER!

I'm not convinced that Gary 'I speak in the 3rd person' Neville will ever play for England again...he's been out of the picture for so long now.

We will have a fantastic game! England 6 and France 0. Do you agree? Let´s pray to see Beckham there, because Capello doesn´t like him!

Ah, the famous McNuts Croatia formation, with a slight lineup twist.. I'll pass on the 3-5-2...Lampard is too lazy to track back and help out on defense. Beckham would be leaving his right side too much, leaving the defense with too much work to do. No thank you....

Yep...Recipe for disaster. It ranks just ahead of Sven's tactical disaster against N. Ireland, as the worst possible formation to play..

The whole point of friendlies is that we learn from them, I remember when after much tinkering we found out that 442 with Barry and Gerrard in the middle really worked for us, and then we started messing with it again by increasing the number of people in the middle so we could get Lampard a game. When the real qualifiers finally started we were back to where we were, unconfident with too many people in the centre playing a formation they didn't really know.

It reminds me of a problem facing Manchester United at the moment, Alex (bless him) seems to change the formation to one up front for away (and sometimes home) European games. It is only when we go a few down at half time he reverts to 442 and we pull it back (1999-442!!).

Sven had it right on the road to us losing to the Argies using a formation he developed straight away which was a diamond 442- again this was lost as we started to rave about our world class midfielders that had to play.

I hope for our sake that the new manager sees past the names and starts to build the new side based on the old principles, on which our players are comfortable. My side bellow,

    ....................James

    Brown/Richards...Ferdinand..Terry.....Bridge

    Beckham/SWP...Gerrard...Barry.....Cole

    .........Rooney........Crouch

You have Brown ahead of Richards. That kills the lineup for me. Sorry..

Richards is recovering for surgery. He is not gonna be match fit.
Brown thriving under Capello is kinda funny:D

If Capello is going to play a 4-5-1, and leave Rooney up front alone, who would be in favor of dropping Lampard, sliding Gerrard over, and playing Young or Agbonlahor?

shuffle the pack depending on the opposition.
Although its hard to deal with a team like France who have enough depth to field about 3 top level teams.

3 lions, richards isnt naturally a rb ffs

hes pretty average at that position and is often out of position and too far up theif ield when attacks break down

hes is a much better centre ha;f

He has arguably been one of the better players on the pitch for England when he has played right back in the opportunities he has had for the senior team. He is also, however, a good centre back. His athleticsm allows him to play both well..We are deeper at CB than RB, unless you enjoy seeing Wes Brown playing that position...

For this game, Richards will not be available. I would rather see Glen Johnson playing RB over Wes Brown.
