any ideas or suggestions for the starting line-up tonight ... I was wondering if the mainplayers are going to start to play a bit more together as the pre-season is coming to a quick close and we have just one more game next wek in Mexico ... and I was also wondering how Marlet is doing with his trial ... I'm assuming if he's made it this far along we will most likely be keeping him around ...

Any Spanish speakers want to do a search for P2P streams for this game? If it's televised we should be able to get a stream online somewhere.

I haven't heard anything about Marlet but it was my understanding that the 18-man senior roster was supposed to be completed by last night and I haven't seen or heard anything about that yet.

Only info I've seen from Aguascalientes so far is that Blanco was interviewed in a press conference. He said he would like to end his playing career with America. He will, however, play out all of his contract with Chicago. For more you can pick up today's Hoy.

He never signed in the first place so there'd be no need to waive. If the Fire don't want him, it's simply "goodbye."

Blanco does his best Fonzie impersonation.

Blanco looks quite uncomfortable as Pause cops a feel.

Hopefully a recap will come soon. We still have a month to go before the season begins, and tied with a team that's not doing so well in the Clausura. I guess that's about par for the course?

That fits our definition of mid-season form.

I'm not too troubled by the result. But I'd like to know how they played. May never know for certain.

From the pics, Andy sort of looked happy, which might indicate that he scored.

In other news, Barrett netted the insult to injury goal for the U23's in a 4-0 drubbing of Creighton

Luis posted the line-up from the Necaxa game:

    GK: Busch

D: Gonzalo Segares (Brian Plotkin 61), Diego Gutierrez (C.J. Brown 85), Bakary Soumare, Austin Washington

M: Justin Mapp (Mike Banner 76), Logan Pause (Kai Kasiguran 85), Chris Rolfe (Stephen King 70), Cuauhtemoc Blanco (Dwight Barnett 82)

F: Herron (Peter Lowry 76), Tomasz Frankowski (Calen Carr 70)

Now my understanding is that Conde was due in Mexico on Monday. Did that happen? And if so, why didn't he even get into the game as a sub? I believe the Fire only have 1 scheduled preseason game left. It would be nice to get our 1st team D together for a few games...or should we be reading more into this? Also of note, Marlet didn't get into the game either.

Anyway, sounds like Herron scored a nice goal on a pass by Blanco. Any video available?

Is Marlet still training with the team? Its been an awful long trial with no contract announced.Him not playing makes me wonder.

Herron barried a Cuah pass. Ok I expect Andy to get all the love Chad got when he scored in the last game:)

I'm glad that he scored but I'm even happier that he stayed on the field for more than four minutes ;). Of course, he probably got the start because Barrett is out of camp training for the Olympics.

YAY Andy! Hope he can get all the goals he can coming off the bench and playing while Chad Diesel is at the Olympics (provided we don't do something stupid like play Adu at forward)

Even more incredible, it was a one-on-one with the 'keeper. Maybe he has turned over a new leaf.

That's how all Fire games look to me, after my pre-game beers.

Yea Andy is too much of a crackpot to start. On the one hand hell understand where Blanco wants him to be or go, but on the other I can see him mouthing off to Blanco....heck I can see him punching Blanco.

I would Imagine ADU is going to play forward with Feilhaber probably being one of the three exempt players and Bradley taking the other MID spot. Id like to see Adu givin the keys but thats something US coaches dont seem to know how to do.

Regardless I cant see Chad starting alongside Altidore. They are both the big physical type players and both would probably be better served with a classic 9 up top with them.

I haven't been following it too closely, but I thought they'd play a 4-2-3-1. That's very similar to a 4-4-2 with Adu playing the second forward. In either case I don't think Barrett will start.

As a follow up to my own post, Conde did see his first action since coming to Mexico and played in a 2-2 draw vs the Necaxa reserves today (per Rolfe's blog)...if anyone cares.
