Well, that's very complimentary of him.

Admittedly, I wasn't a fan when Rey was on the MetroStars. Was he any good?

It's funny that some players like sgr and paco plaencia praise mls when they leave but some americans like clint dempsey talk shit about the league that allowed them to eat.

Sadly Dempsey has a chip on his shoulder. And a bit of an Ego.

He was awful as a Metro. Very rare flashes of what he did in Colombia combined with a large price tag made him the target of a lot of scorn.

He got much more grief than he deserved. I also felt that the players around him didn't know how to play to his skills.

How much did he cost? How long was he there for? 1 season?

Was he really that bad as they made him out to be?

He played hard. His game just didn't mesh. Some of it was his style of play and some of it was his teammates not knowing when to feed him the ball.

he scored 2 goals in Copa Lib last week for Nacional, I hate this guy but he scores for Nacional all the time in colombia its just some players dont mesh with certain leagues and like someone said before that maybe his teammates just didnt click with him... he also came kind of old, as he is at least 33 now

To say he was not fed the ball is a mis-statement the guy missed countless sitters and good strikers create goals.

When you try too hard, you draw blanks...
