Ah yes, another "One match makes a trend" post.

I'll tell you what. I'll review the film of this dreadful match where Ianni had an aboslute stinker and you review all of the Dynamo matches he played in last year.

No? Ok, well I'll save you the trouble.

Ianni belongs on an MLS field. End of.

Met the guys in Terminal 'C', picking up their baggage (all 47,000 lbs of it!)

My first question was to Pat: "So, what happened?" - An off day with the available players versus injuries, and it just tended to spiral out of control, towards the end (and this still hurts to think of writing it, but he did say it), they just lost their drive, their motivation. On a personal note, though, he said in his 22 years as a professional, this was the very first time he allowed 6 to get by him. He said that that hurt him deeply. I can only imagine. I asked him if the guys had learned anything from it, but of course, you have to know they did, even if the lessons were still sinking in.

I told him to never mind, we are still behind them all the way, they are our team, and still our pride and joy. I also asked him when they plan on announcing Bare as Houston's DP, but he answered me most solemnly that that will likely never happen, he's probably making way too much money where he's at. I agreed.

And this little heart-breaker of a question from him to me: Did I know if any of us are going to be there in San Antonio? Honestly, I fumbled that one, partly because I know I can't make it and also because I truly didn't know what the numbers were - I hadn't paid that much attention (up 'til today - so glad they gave you guys those deep discounts...), but mainly because he asked in such a plaintive manner. I got the impression he was seeking solace, maybe even forgiveness. I really think having our noise and pageantry, to use a fancy term, will really help to lift the guys out of the funk that they most obviously were in after that debacle.

Chabala on crutches, Stuie steadfastly grinning like Stuie does, even Wade on his way to the exit stopped, came back, and thanked me for being there to greet them home. It was an eternity looking at the pain on their faces, yet still over all to quickly. I even had the honor of helping them to carry some of their bags out to their rented van (47,000 lbs, I swear!) Do any other professional sports players carry their own gear?

We lost, but I'm still proud of them. They are my Houston Dynamo.

Yeah k, point taken. You know, I reckon that a lot of those players in MLS, especially Houston, are worth a lot more than $160000 , bargain players you've got imo, cause they're really are quality.

rep'd, even though you blew the answer to his question. :p

makes me want to drive to San Antonio on Wednesday and drive back same night (and then drive back Friday) to show him that Texian Army is still behind him and not wishy-washy like some of yous on here. TA get your ticket at minimum for Friday & Sunday. we'll squeeze you in a hotel room/tent/floor if you need to save $$$$.

Well, as I told him, we've gotten several buses at a time together for the Dallas trips, and San Antonio isn't near the same distance, and after speaking with 30 or so-odd people at the Mezz on two separate, long-ago nights who said they were going, I would expect a fairly Orange-ish turn-out.

I feel pretty low for not being able to go, I'll tell you.

Assuming my luggage turns up between now and then, I'll be there in full colors.

I can understand, up to a point, how Onstad could be so be so down hearted. He's in a business where a bad day at the office is in full view of the world. Most of us have the luxury on having our failure in front of only a small audience. I wish there was a way to let them know we're still fans and that one stupid game isn't going to ******** that up.

I'm going to be in San Antonio for the full week. Me and my brother have been looking forward to this since it was announced. There'll be orange in the stands for the Wednesday game. I'll see to it.

Hey apparently, many of you reckon I was trolling and whatever.

Sorry if that's what you all thought, i got a bit carried away with the win.

Anyway good luck in the upcoming MLS season.

    cheers.

To get set piece goals, you need someone on both ends of the cross. The US should have Altidore, Ching, and the big fella from Dallas to head them in. Now they need someone to whack em across. I am not sold that the US has someone locked in at the service end. On the right size of field Davis could be useful in the last minutes of a tight game.

Sorry, but 6-1 in and of itself means you have something that needs to be fixed. As a certain someone said (expletive deleted, statement paraphrased), are you kidding me? If the Dynamo rested on their laurels last year they would not have repeated.

I wouldn't say that. He's played in 4 games and has 3 cleansheets. That ain't too shabby, y'know.

seemed like we played the shittiest game ever..

also seemed like gamba played pretty damn badass

we just couldn't handle bare and the speed of their offense, they seemed to beat us at every opportunity
oh well, it is preseason and hopefully we can learn from this

My gut feeling is that had Eddie played, things would have worked out differently. Not that Eddie is some God-awesome player (I think he's very good) but as soon as Bare scored twice, I think Eddie would have started getting physical. Eddie might have been sent off with a red card before the final whistle, and Houston might have still lost, but Gamba would not have scored 6.
