Special thanks to Gokhan Gonul, Mehmet Aurelio, and Deniz Baris. They are amazing. Just amazing.

The rest of the players put out a great performance and I loved every second of the game. Yasin did his job just perfectly. Carlos proved again that he came from football heaven. Kazim worked his ass off and for the first time this season, our right wing worked as smoothly as our left. Edu played without mistakes, and pretty much screamed "sorry for the CSKA game, here's something better!" Alex, until he got injured and had to be subbed, reminded us of the reason why he's the best at what he does in Turkey, and being picked to the CL squad of the week twice says something. Wederson continues to work magic with Carlos on the left, and Semih built perfect chemistry with Alex. In fact, I don't know how Kezman is going to get his jersey back from him. I sort of do miss Kezman though. I hope he gets to at least sit on the bench and play once in a while.

I watched the Fenerbahce- chelsea game at a local bar. I think I was the only turkish guy there, however, when Fenerbahce scored, many people cheered... Spaniards maybe? Other Brits who hate Blues? Maybe... :) Anyway, it was interesting...
But Deivid's goal was just hell of a shot just to cheer for the sake of the beauty of football, anyway...

I was going to write about the heated race of the country points:
    Rank Country 03/04 04/05 05/06 06/07 07/08 rank08 nt08
    ...
    8 Portugal 10.250 8.166 5.500 8.083 7.928 39.927 1/ 7
    9 Netherlands 5.416 12.000 7.583 8.214 5.000 38.213 1/ 6
    10 Scotland 7.375 4.750 4.250 6.750 8.750 31.875 1/ 4
    11 Turkey 6.500 5.375 4.000 6.100 9.750 31.725 1/ 4
    12 Ukraine 4.875 8.100 5.750 6.500 4.875 30.100 0/4
    13 Belgium 5.875 6.125 5.500 4.700 4.500 26.700 0/4
    14 Greece 4.166 6.166 3.333 4.666 7.500 25.831 0/6
    15 Czech Rep. 7.375 2.875 4.625 5.750 5.125 25.750 0/4
    16 Switzerland 1.875 2.625 9.375 4.100 6.250 24.225 0/4
    ...

We got 9.750 points this year so far, thanks to Fenerbahce's performance. Fenerbahce got 19 points (5 of which is bonuses), Besiktas collected 10.5 (3 of which is bonus), Galatasaray added 8 points (no bonuses), Erciyesspor just another 1.5 (pulls the average down)...

There is only 0.150 point difference between Scotland and Turkiye. Rangers drew 0-0 at home with Sporting... If Sporting eliminates Rangers and if Fenerbahce eliminates Chelsea, then we will go atop Scotland at 10th. We will also break the tie with Ukraine for 2009 ranking. If we can do that, we would accomplish a 4-place jump with respect to last year (14th).
And if we can continue a similar performance next year, we "might" get somewhere close to Netherlands, the 9th, if they show somewhat a medicore or poor performance. Ahhh, it will still take us at least three more years before seeing 6 Turkish teams at Euros again....
