If that's indeed the starting lineup, I can see Ruud putting Franklin in at the half or even later and using his speed on the flanks against tired legs.

Hopefully Alvaro's better than any of the defensive midfielders we had last season(shouldn't be that hard of a feat at all).

Been a while since the Galaxy have played a match(or since I've posted here, for that matter), looking forward to it.

    Me too
Hopefully he will be good enough to buffer our bad backline

I think it's pretty exciting to go out there with the team we have in a 4-3-3 formation. Completely unorthadox, brash, and nearly cocksure.

Im also glad to see something different from a 4-4-2

    Bummer.

I am absolutely not an LA fan, but I always root for MLS sides in these kinds of competitions.

I have to say it, though - this lineup looks weak.

    I don't see how its a 4-3-3 unless becks is a forward.

I like how the blog called it a 4-4-3. With 12 men we'd win for sure!

morning everyone (local time nearly 5am)

can't wait - finally the waiting is over :)

interesting line up (good central midfield)

most interested in Vanney and that Alvaro guy since they are the new guys.

will be only the 2nd time or so I've seen Steve Cronin. looking forward to Tudela's performance aswell and please 100% healthy Becks...

    12mins till kick off

Ten mintutes to happiness. Given the missing players for Gamba O. (callups & injury), as well as the plastic field, I think it's the perfect time to put the kids out there and see what we have. Hopefully they play well.

The blog has been corrected. Becks is a right winger.

Blog lineup was a bit off. It's a 4-4-2 with Allen and Buddle up top.

won't really know until the match starts.

Turf looks like old astroturf, hopefully the ball doesn't just roll endlessly like it does on that older surface.
