With the "Gooners" thing it does appear money grabbing, but after what happened with our old badge do you blame them? If some fecker copyrighted Gooner we'd have to call ourselves "Spurs" or something ;) :p

I went bowling last night for a friends birthday. I was wearing my new 3rd Adebayor LS shirt (natch!), hanging around the scoring table and drinking a beer. some Jabroni just like you walked by me and all he said was "5 - 1." mind you, this is in the middle of hipster alley, Williamsburg, Brooklyn, where there aren't many soccer heads. It honestly took about 20 seconds before it even registered to me what Jabroni 2 was referencing. its not as if you won A CUP FINAL. lol. Losers.

Tottenham's desperate bid for european football next season has driven the club to apply to enter the Intertoto Cup (various).

So I went to see the movie In Bruges today with Colin Farrell. Great quote in it.

Colin Farrell: So there's heaven and hell. And what's that other place called?

    Brenden Gleason: Purgatory

Colin Farrell: That's right. That's the place you go if you aren't quite shit but you aren't quite good? Like Tottenham. Tottenham certainly fit that.

I saw it at the Angelika in New York so needless to say most of the crowd let that line pass right by. But I got a good chuckle which made my friends look at me funny. I had to explain to them afterwards.

Relax, I kid, I kid the Arsenal fans. Your team has the history and the glory, and I have no choice but to acknowledge that, though I shiver uncontrollably for periods of time anytime the thought comes to mind.

Also, soccer fans in Williamsburg? Whhhaaat? Hipsters like soccer? Crap, I better find another sport!

Well you know what they say:

Challenging for 4-8 is better than being embroiled in a relegation battle.

Actually, I dunno if they say that, but I do. :)

I saw In Bruges with my wife Saturday afternoon here in Minneapolis. When that line came, it generated a lot of laughs. I'd like to think that many of my Gooners were there as well...

meh, let spurs have their 5-1.

we win leagues though, which is something few tottenham teams in history can ever say. the league is the pinnacle and the most prized trophy in every major league in Europe. Any Spurs fan who denies that doesn't know much about football or is deluded. this is the ultimate difference between us and them, and why our claim to being one of the traditional elite English clubs is far stronger than theirs.:D

Which is what Newcastle are doing now under their messiah Kevin Keegan! Lets all point and laugh at the toon... and then go back to hating one another! :p

Anyone else watch them win the Carling Cup last night? I was completely astounded by how much a relatively meaningless trophy could mean to such a small club.

The only thing I could even half smile about was at least they beat the Chavs.

    But that's about it.:p
