I figured we could keep a seperate thread for discussing the midweek fixtures. There are a lot of good fixtures, so the entertainment factor makes up for the injury scare associated with these.

    Croatia - Holland
    Italy - Portugal
    Ireland - Brazil
    England - Switzerland
Spain - France (a ridiculous amount of talent on the field and bench)
and then the not so friendly USA - Mexico.

There are also a bunch of snorefest fixtures like Sweden - Turkey, Greece - Finland, Czech - Poland etc.

This is going to be one jam packed Wednesday, from the croatia kickoff at 2:30 to the end of the USA game at 11pm.

And they say don't talk to boobs - they talk and communicate my opinion on international friendlies perfectly:

Is anyone here actually interested in US v Mexico? I used to live for those games but now they're basically predicted by what country its played in.

Im interested in USA v Mexico to see Carlos Vela, who was pretty poor on sat. I mean I support the US men but the friendlies vs Mexico are stupid, until they alternate hosting. I guess they build some hype and get the match on ESPN so I cant complain that much.

and France-Spain isn't on tv, so I can't even watch my match. If anyone gets injured, someone else is getting injured.

A bunch of friends of mine got a suite for this match, but I can't go. Stupid baby.;)

As far as where it is played, being in Houston is pretty much like a home match for the Mexican team.

I agree, I'm only really watching to see Vela, and Michael Bradley - who I am a fan of-. But other then that, I don't care all that much.

I hate Mexico almost as much (or perhaps as much) as I hate Tottenham. I support the Nads. I'll be watching the match and going crazy when we score.

I actually hate Mexico more. It's hard to know what's worse -- the lousy sportsmanship from their fans or the lousy sportsmanship from their players. When Oswaldo Sanchez deliberately tried to trip Eddie Johnson (why was that not a red card?) that to me epitomized classlessness.

Certainly no class. I enjoy dominating them.

i first got into the sport by going to see the nats when i was young, so i will always support them no matter how bad they are.

i hate how they are trying to force a rivalry with mexico by playing all these friendlies though.

HA for once i do care about the international friendlies. Only cause it is the USA vs. Mexico. Mexico = The Scum for me. The game may have lost some of its passion lately but i love the fact that we are dominating them as of late. The team is full of a bunch of pricks and the fans are a bunch of pricks as well. It makes it easy to hate them. As well most of the fans are two faced as can be. Watch the fans closely. If the US is winning there will be far more USA jerseys by the end of the match then there were before. Most of the supposed Mexico fans come wearing a USA jersey underneath their Mexican jersey. I have Wednesday off magically and cant wait for this one.

You should have seen the Cotton Bowl back in 2004(April I think). 95% of the places was mexican supporters, but Sam's Army was amazing that night.

Especially when we all know who are real rival is.....CANADA. :D

Seriously, who are they going to play in friendlies? Haiti, Dom Rep, Trinadad&Tobago? Mexico is our logical partner when it comes to playing these games. Eventually, we may get to the point where we can play England and France, but I doubt it will be anytime soon.

France "A" ( which is B ) v RD Congo right now, second half just started.

Read that Flamini was subbed out in the 17th min for a thigh injury.

Clichy and Sagna started the match also and are still on the field.

    *Diaby is on the bench.

good goal by theo today versus ireland in the u21 qualifier. his pace is scary but he doesn't have enough bulk to stay on the ball when defenders bump him. in case you didn't see it, his goal today was a carbon copy of his second against germany. dare i say it again, looked like henry.

I'm gonna go to Argentina - Guatemala tomorrow.

As much as I hate Mexico and want them to lose, I've never seen Argentina play before.

    Go USA!
