Watching the Liverpool vs Boro' game this past weekend I came to the realisation that at least 4 of Liverpools starting 11 wouldn't get a kick were they with any of the other "big three"...Finnan, Hyppia (sp?) Risse and Benayoun while all very serviceable EPL players wouldn't get a look in at Man Utd, Arsenal or Chelsea. Tough to swallow but true.

no one on the planet would start over C. Ronaldo. only one centerback in the EPL might possibly start before Vidic and Ferdinand, and he doesn't play for Liverpool. Giggs is better than Riise, but I'd take Bentley before Giggs now.

There was, disgracefully, no live coverage of the match. They missed out and in the process, as usual, did a world-wide audience a huge disfavour.

Not as far as I could tell. Friends who normally get live matches, by hook or crook, were left listening to BBC World Service. Some delayed highlights.

Warning: the voice-over commentaries are stunningly banal.

Why doesn't DISH get Setanta Sports USA Xtra? I went from seeing every game live on my tv this season (since the Reading Carless Cup game) to watching two in a row on the computer....

I downloaded a copy that looked like it was from ESPN somewhere in Asia. On the screen opposite the score were the words "True" & "ESPN." Not right next to each other like an advertisement "True ESPN" but rather seemed something called True was taking ESPN's feed.

A little digging tells me that "TrueVisions is Thailand's leading cable satellite television operator."

Maybe that's it. Maybe not. Either way, I'm glad I saw the match even if the downloaded copy wasn't very good quality.

Ah yes, there are a lot of Liverpool games coming up that will be shown on FSC and ESPN 2.

Saturday, Feb 10th - Chelsea v. Liverpool 11 AM ET (FSC)

Saturday, Feb 16th - Liverpool v. Barnsley 10 AM ET (FSC)

Tuesday, Feb 19th - Liverpool v. Inter Milan 2:30 PM ET (ESPN 2)

Saturday, Feb 23rd - Liverpool v. Boro 10 AM ET (FSC)

Yes! The only one I probably won't get to see live is the Inter match because I will have to be in class. But we will see. For the other matches I will be able to do comms.
