Also, DF, when you say "official transfer news" do you mean official news for official transfers that will happen, or are you including news from official websites (skysports, soccernet) about potential transfers (rumors, but not baseless rumors)?

LOL..you know what, I don't care anymore. I think this experiment failed horribly. Now we have to go back to all the dumb ass posts and the dumb ass responses to the dumb ass posts. Also, the Team News thread, the one for official team news from Bayern, has turned into a hell hole. But, I'm not bitter. :D

I think this thread should just be for news that comes out of KHR's or Uli's mouth.

Or just throw all the rules out the window :D It'll sort itself out...

That's what it was for, but it doesn't seem people know how to read. Again, I'm not bitter. :D

Hopefully he can get Podolski to play like he did in the world cup

yeah, i'm not sure why people got so worked up in the other thread

i figured he was coming in as an "altintop" like player, sort of a workmanlike super-sub and if you get more from him, then that's icing on the cake

(of course, that was my definition for altintop before he began outperforming schweini but that's a different story)

i never really thought he was going to be the big piece to next summers transfer puzzle, just a good addition

    Schweinsteiger
    Ottl
    Kroos
    Klose
    Schlaudraff
    Borowski

Well, Ottl is pretty useless now that Borowski is here. We now have real depth in that department, so either loan or sell Ottl.

Re: Rumors and wishful thinking thread Part2

On the Poldi transfer fee offer rumors:

Guys, you have to remember the exchange rate.

Sure, we think of €18-20M as big money because we deal in Euros.

However, for them, it adds up to roughly ₤12-13.3M.

With the huge money in the Premiership, for a player of Podolski's potential, that's not a lot of money to quite a few Premiership clubs.....

I think the major question is this one:

"Is Lukas ready to function at a high level abroad?"

I really don't know that he is.

I think he is, and the only thing stopping him from regaining his form is the fact that Toni and Klose are both going to start over him no matter what.

Dude, Toni and Klose weren't there last season.

Lukas can't function in Munich, what makes you think he's going to function in Manchester??!!

His only hope is that he will start scoring under Klinsi. If he doesn't, he might as well go to Wolfsburg. I doubt that he will score in Manchester or Bremen if he can't score under the coach that previously got the most production out of him.

Klinsi will start Poldi a few games and realize how much better Klose and Toni go together.

Poldi's problem is not about who is coaching...he was just never good on any consistent level for the level Bayern are at.

Re: Rumors and wishful thinking thread Part2

Why would he want to play for the coach who first benched him after he played no matter what in Koln?

Exactly. We really don't know about him.

He might be one of those guys who can only produce in one place or with zero pressure.

After all. That's pretty much what Klinsmann did for the German National Team. He removed the pressure and created the atmosphere for their success by allowing the team to simply play and have fun doing it.

I see Wolfsburg as a punishment where all players and coaches are sent to if they underperform :p

Bayern is doing to Bremen what they did to Leverkusen in 2002. Watch out for Mertesacker next :D

Cruz can't function in Munich, what makes you think he's going to function at EPL? Ohhh wait... Poldi has played well in his last 4 games.

    Spot on...
This was exactly my point in my comment regarding how his signing this summer is a bit anticlimatic... had it been LAST summer, people would have likely been signing a different choon.

I smell where this is headed...

...hasn't this been written about already in a famous soccer novel "Tor: the Story of German Fussball"???

Roque Santa Cruz? That's Blackburn. Not nearly the pressure of playing for either Manchester club which is what I meant with my comment.

Sorry for assuming you guys would know that.
