Profit? The necessary replacement would cost enough to smelt any potential profit to nothing

He got best young player in the World Cup, I better fooking see some profit of him. When other players get sold for so much more (Porto for example), I want Poldi to be sold for 20m.

Those awards mean crap. Everybody knows Ronaldo was better than him and the only reason Poldi got it, was due to Ronaldo theatrics. Also..that was 1 year and a half ago...so it means even less. Poldi is nowhere near 20m. Of course, Hargreaves was over valued as well. That one always makes me chuckle. :p

I think that the theatrics should also have an impact on the market value. It gives your team a bad image, and more importantly, it can be a huge distraction to your team.

Awards make stupid managers pay more, simple as that. Also, when I see so many other players being bought for more than deserved, why can't we do it as well?

Well, if City decides 20m is too much, then Poldi stays. That's the problem.

Remember, this is still just a rumor. Even if the two clubs are talking, the amount is probably just total speculation. I actually really wanna see Poldi when Klinsi takes over. Maybe he does finally show something. But of course we would have to keep him another year for that, and right now he is just dead weight.

Shouldn't Lucio, Zero and Breno be speaking Portuguese, not Spanish? Or do they all know Spanish for some reason?

Keep in mind, those of you who have been following the Winter Transfer Period news, that Man City has been trying to sign any and every striker of any value under the sun.... so far with no success (although I have to say I like Castillo from Mexico, and will be anxious to see what he does for them).

I guess my point is was (a) Lucas 'high' on the list of priorities to sign for them, (b) a second best option, or (c) a desperation move in trying to lure a young player with boat-loads of cash... you be the judge.

Personally, I could flippin care less. I just want to believe the hype for a change. Much the same way I wanted to believe it with Roque... and now look at the season HE is having!

    Re: Team News II 07/08

This team 'sectionalization' at dinner time is purely natural... think about it... whenever you played on a team, did you hang out with every person talking about soccer 24-7? Hell no. This is just team and social dynamics of any group.

If this were a team of teenage girls, then "yes", I would be worried. Guys? Not in the least.

    Re: Team News II 07/08

I read an interview with Fernando Torres speaking on the Spanish NT and why they don't gel together on the pitch most of the time. He said that during practice and afterwards at the hotels the Madrid players are always seperate from the Barca players who are always seperate from the Valencia players etc.

The same goes for the English NT. Reading Gerrard's book he wrote how the Manchester players were always isolated from the Liverpool players and so on. And at trainning they tended to play with each other a lot more and tackle hard on their "club rivals".

It is natural to "stick" to your own or who you are comfortable with but with a football team, where chemistry and team dynamics off the pitch can translate to happenings on the pitch, it can have a negative effect.

    Re: Team News II 07/08

i honestly don't think the dinner seating is going to make a difference, also i find fault with what was said. the brazilians speaking spanish? does not sound right. also someone mentioned something before about Lahm amd Jansen not being mentioned which further makes me belive someone is just making this stuff up and is not actually there in spain.

    Re: Team News II 07/08

Lucio and Ze are fluent in Spanish, I don't know about Breno. The "Latino" group used to be a lot bigger. Santa Cruz, Pizarro, Guerrero, dos Santos etc.

It was just proof of the separate cliques which might be a problem concerning the team chemistry. I wouldn't place emphasis on the names here. I reckon Lahm's sitting with his old buddies Rensing and Ottl.

Anyway, this is the reason Hoeness and Rummenigge promised Sagnol the captain's armband. He's seen as a link between the Germans/Central Europeans and the South Americans because he's equally accepted by both.

i heard something about some argentine being klinsi's No 2. Uli said that he does not see why they would bring in Lehman or Vogts

I would love to see that full list of players Klinsmann wants to work with on the team.
