Those of you who know me are aware that I'm primarily a booze imbibing machine (i.e drunkard), but everyone once and while a cold bottle o' soda is just the thing. I was curious what everyone's favorite non alcoholic carbonated (non juice or energy drink) beverages were.

The MeridianFC Top 10 Desginated Driver Drinks

    1) Blenheim's Ginger Ale 1903 Original Hot
    2) Old Dominion Root Beer
    3) Boylan's Sugar Cane Cola
    4) San Pelegrino Limonata
    5) Giant Brand Grapefruit Soda
    6) Barritt's Ginger Ale
    7) D&G Jamacian Ginger Ale
    8) Moxie
    9) Whole Foods 365 Tangerine or Lemon
    10) Pepsi (just because the support soccer, I actually rarely drink the stuff).

PS sugar cane rules, corn syrup is for suckas.

    Nacional Tijuana repped this.

As our apparent resident sody expert, have you ever tried Chubby?

It comes in all sorts o' random flavors and then there's the name.

    And, in my favorites list:

--plain ol' ordinary fountain Coke w/ cherry

--Cock n' Bull ginger beer (which, again, I have to admit I just buy for the name)

--A big second on the D&G ginger.

--And, I'm cheating because it's not carbonated, Delaware Punch. Sickly, grapy sweet. Reminds me of summers with my grandparents in So. California.

    I add Vernor's.

It's what Ginger Ale wants to be when it grows up. Originally brewed back home in Detroit, I grew up on the stuff.

I'm tellin ya, it's not Ginger Ale if it doesn't bring on a coughing jag when you open the can...

You really need to try Blenheims. It's been known to knock over a water buffalo.

I do like vernors too. Been drinking that since I was wean.

    I'll check out the Chubby.

    I call it non-alcoholic scotch.

I can pour some in a rocks glass over for or five large cubes and sip it like a regular old shot of Glennfiddich. It's that nice, slow burn on the back of the throat that feels so nice in the late hours of the day before heading home for the night.

Fanta and Orangina are easily at the top of my list :)... I also like Pepsi, the Ginseng Cola (Chinese) that you get at Whole Foods, and just about any other Beverage you can buy at Whole Foods (my most favorite market)

Pellegrino Aranchiata and Limonata are quite easy to get if you have a Trader Joe's in your area, $2.99 for a six pack. My fav root beer is Henry Weinhard's, find it in the soda aisle at Albertson's or Safeway.

Guaraná from Brazil. Drank it everyday when I was there. It's made from a berry that grows in the Amazon region and tastes like a lemony ginger ale. More caffeine than Jolt. Don't know if it's available in the States or not.

It's available in most metro areas. Normally, the "hispanic" grocery stores carry it, if there's not a specialized Brazilian convenience store in your city. We just opened one in Austin, before it was like $1/can. Now, it's like $2 for 2 litres. I also forgot to mention that and Fanta Grape.

Cheerwine is the best. Hard to describe to someone who's never had it though, right? It's not Coke or Cherry soda or wine...

I really like cream soda either Stewarts or another brand I can't think of......

Another vote here for Blenheims Hot. The only place I know of around here that sells it is the very cool Guitar Bar guitar store in Hoboken.

Here's my second fave, it goes perfect with Tosh or Toots on the boombox:

And Chubby's are an awesome little size for middle of the night fridge runs. The cherry is excellent.

    Dr. Brown's Black Cherry!

    Just about any ginger beer.

Northern Neck Ginger Ale (which is available only in the rural Northern Neck region of Virginia and a few Richmond grocery stores)

Cheerwine, is the nectar of the gods.

Once I gave a friend of mine a bottle of Bleinheim ginger ale. I told him to drink it on this road trip he was taking and I told him to chug it.

He didn't talk to me for a while.

    Lahs Angeleez
Ironbeer (reminds me of a mixture of Root beer and Dr. Pepper)
Materva (can't decide if it tastes more like ginger ale or creme soda)

Sold in Central American stores. Usually the drinks of choice in Cuban, Puerto Rican, and Dominican restaurants.
