No, but you know, I know, he knows, and almost everyone knows that his production thus far merits significantly more money than even $80k/year.

So yeah, it's low. It's all relative.

I am not panicked either and I don't want to be misinterpreted.

    1) I think he will remain.

    2) If he is trying for more money, good for him.

    3) If FC FO is being an indian giver, shame on them.

    4) If KJC is "despondent" then he is a ********** or needs help.

    5) I couldn't remotely make a judgment about 3 or 4.

    6) He is not a particularly interesting player, although he is valuable. I would miss Ruiz more than Cooper if they left. However, I would want something big in return for Cooper. Probably as much or more than Ruiz.

Compared with Shaka and Denilson it is a ridiculously low ammount of money and as has been stated by others, when core players are underpaid and very underperforming players are overpaid then the underpaid players start to look at their options and europe beckons. FCD brought this mess (Goodson and Cooper) on themselves.

Cooper may not be happy with his situation, but I think there are more reasons for him to stay at least one more year before demanding a trade. The team is talented, and Ruiz's future remains unclear. FC Dallas is still one of the best teams and looks very promising for next year. Cooper is also close to home in Dallas, so that may be one more reason to stick it out for another year unless Europe comes calling. I'll only believe it once it happens.

Question, if KC's ultimate goal is to be a fixture on the NT and play in Europe, how is his light ever going to shine w/o a system in place that provides service?

Older players getting undeserved contracts is a part of professional sports no matter which sport you're talking about. Life isn't fair.

Does anyone else find the silence from E66 deafening? Of course he could be tied up with something and that is why he is not commenting, but he usually would have given some input by now. I am guessing this has hit upon something that E66 does not want to comment on due to ongoing negotiations. Whether that is for contract negotiation, transfer, trade, etc., I have no idea.

My thoughts exactly. I don't know about any of you, but I haven't felt this much lack of enthusiasm a few months before the season as I do this year. Come on FCD, give us some good news.

theo, I am not a student of the game, but it would really surprise me if our system is designed specifically NOT to provide service.

Now did we fail at providing enough service? Yes. But are we intentionally designing not to provide it?

Let us taunt him more, now that his absence has given us big brass balls.

I'm rather surprised neither he nor Drum'r Boy have commented on it yet, but it is the weekend after all.

You know, honestly, I think my lack of enthusiam has more to do with the fact that there is so much parity in the league, and the perception that because we aren't going as aggressively at young talent in SA and Africa, the talent level in the league is being a bit disperssed.

Here is the way I see it. For every Ricardinho, Toja and u.s. rookie, we will get one person who will emerge as a very valuable, memorable player. For every Denilson, Davilo and Serioux, we will get some solid moments but uniformly diminishing returns.

I am not marketer, but as a soccer fan, seeing what Toja and Dax and Wagner and a healthy Cooper will do next year is all I need to be happy. Seriously, that is it. If coach was talking highly of Aldus or some other youngster ready to bust out of the reserves I would be equally happy.

As important as the Beckham and Blancos may have been to the bottom line, as a soccer fan, I would prefer my team focus on young blood and discovering interesting, undervalued players in SA and Africa and even Europe.

MLS has proved it can put a decent product out there. Now let's make it young and brash and challenge the old guard. And let's spend our money on stealing their youth.

E66 was on here last night. Sometimes what's not said is more revealing that what is said.

    Amen, brother!

My season ticket fee will be worth it just to see these youngsters get some decent playing time together...Dax, Wallace, Wagner. Even if it's at the expense of some of the more established players, I want to see these guys play! If I can be excited about 2-5 years from now based on the young players' development this season, a first-round flameout will be MUCH easier to swallow.

I realize it's a tough order for Morrow given everyone's immediate expectations, but I think it can be done and still have a successful (playoff) season. I definitely won't be on these boards complaining about it....of course, I may be the only one.

Is your service flexible enough to apply justified value for value? What is it about the people in charge of HSG that perpetuates these polarized imbalances throughout the organization?

Perhaps the core passion of Lamar has a major gap in the offspring translation. The code is so diluted that the effects are just bi-polar waves that one might get a momentary value from. This, of course, justifies limited value in exchange. Casual indeed.

He has already said his piece on the subject before on this board. Long before this article came out. Not to the extent that KCJ is pushing to get out, as I think that is exaggeration on Davis' part to sell the article and opinion, but I am sure he is unhappy with promises made but unfufilled.

Seeing Cooper and Oduro for a bunch of preseason games to see how they work out together would also kind of make me happy.

I want to hear from E66 on this too. I agree with others who say the silence speaks volumes.

Drum'r Boy never gives inside information on stuff like this. He never comments on specific players unless it's positive or they're gone. In my opinion, he would never talk about a player's unhappiness on these boards, He's a professional.

Unless someone made a broad statement like "every FC Dallas player is unhappy because they were hoodwinked like Cooper" I doubt he will join the conversation.

E66 won't say anything.. if the Cooper camp wanted to come out and say something, it wouldn't be through Bigsoccer.

The muzzled E66 kind of leads you to believe that something MUST be up. The lack of any statement or denial from Drum or 3rd leads me to believe that this is a rumor w/ long, recently healed legs.

But, does KC fit the mold of what Buzz says is Morrow's type of guy? He calls it "range", I call it a dribbling whirling dervish. While he is a guy w/ a great work rate, he seems smarter and more economical in his movements. KC is not your typical kick and rush type despite his lineage.

If Morrow is going to an English 4-5-1 and KC is not the 1, maybe he doesn't see it as a good fit.

Or, maybe it is just about the money.

In professional sports - isn't everyone disposable? Isn't there always the next superstar around the corner? Can't everyone be replaced?

I would hate to see him go as my daughter thinks the world of him. He was great with the kids at camp last summer and I think is a good role model (sometimes hard to come by in professional sports).
