:( This also means Preston Burpo will probably be dealt back to Chivas USA with Brad Guzan's Departure to Europe almost a lock.

I'm okay with it...for some reason I've never been a big Goodson fan, so I'm not broken up by him heading to Europe.

That begs the question then, who would they give us for him?

I'd take Mendoza or Bornstein for Burpo.

Bornstein for Burpo would definitely be good.

Not for them, but they are desperate if Guzan leaves.

Congratulations to you guys for getting a good GK and class guy back in your organization. As some of you have read from me in the past, I go back to Joe's days with the SD Flash when I did radio and TV PBP for that team. As a Galaxy STH I was thrilled when he came south once again. Its too bad we had such a crap team playing in front of him. I wish him all the best and I look forward to resuming with you all the best rivalry in MLS.

:p C'mon, hdb. The statements in the post below have been proven to be absolutely wrong. Just say it, "I was wrong about the Quakes' intent to sign Cannon." Or what the heck, don't if you don't want to. It's there for everyone to see.

i really think that mullan wants to be back in san jose. i think he was really happy here and did not want to leave. i think if doyle and yallop could make that happen, i think we would have a very impressive team starting the season. it would be great to have 3 solid players (cochrane, cannon and mullan) who are very happy about being back on the quakes. i think that would make for a strong start.

Plus, Mullam is good enough to make an impact for us but not so good that Houston would dismiss the idea of parting with him. FOr example, if I could pick anyone from Houston it would be DeRo. But then again, I'd also like to sleep with Jessica Alba and don't expect that to happen either.

Cochrane and Cannon back at Buck Shaw. That has to put a smile on their faces, and on ours.

I couldn't agree with you more. I think Mullan is one of the most underrated mids in the league. I've never seen anybody work as hard as that guy...he leaves everything he has out on the pitch. If there is a chance to get him we'd be foolish not to jump on him. I know his stats don't scream "superstar", but that guy creates so much in the midfield. He can take defenders on and turn them inside out, and comes back and plays solid defensively. His attitude and work ethic are far more valuable then stats to me. Besides...soccer stats don't tell the full story.

I haven't heard anything about his contract status...all I know is it expired on Dec 31st.

Give me one or two more ex-quakes and i'll be set for this year.

No less than one though, no less than one. Ill take Davis or Mullan back, those are the only two I believe Houston would trade.

Chivas took a gamble exposing Burpo. Now with Guzan the latest "It" keeper heading for Europe they may want him back knowing an untested keeper will set them back.

    However, that aside...

The Joe comes home for a second go-round. This deal means LA needed to free up some cap space and we on paper can contend immediately.

Barring anything else, will there be a battle for the keeper spot?

Be prepared for those pre-game tossers and post-game victory high-fives. The good old days!

Two of the Quakes diaspora return! We want more!

(and Joe is probably glad to leave the zoo that is the Galaxy but then he'll be losing out on that backstage pass to the Spice Girls gigs! We're better folk anyway than those Hollywood A-listers! ;) )

Great signing. Welcome back Joe. On an expansion type club it is SO important to have a veteran, proven, keeper and Joe is in my opinion one the the top 3 keepers in MLS. He is at the age where he can get even better.

I am a happy man reading about this signing, happy for the Club and happy for Joe.

?. What the hell is LA thinking?
