Haha, you have to give them points for trying, last place I'd wanna be if Real lost to Barca is the Barca forum. The bitterness just makes this win that much more sweet.

Ladies and Gentlemen we are the best in Spain, and quite possibly the best in the world :-D good times, good times.

Well read maca. This is one of the games that I know the opponent wouldn't have a chance to score despite the larger possession. I actually felt really calm especially in the 2H of the game.

The best CB pairing in the world :D

    I just saw the game.

Pepe is the greatest defender in the world.

I may be hindered by bias right now though, but seriously, he is freaking fantastic.

    Yes you are Biased.

He had a GREAT game againts FC Barcelona. That justifies Calderons's Lies.

    30 Million Euro's for a defender that was worth 6 million, 8 month's ago.

But he did have a great game. He helped shut down Dinho, Eto'o and DECO.

According to you the "BEST". 24 MILLION of 30. Not including his salary.

But he DID shut down the Barca offensive. For 30 Million E

Now that the heads are cool, here are my two cents.
For the first time this season, Im' sure we are on the right track. Team is strong and every single player has a desire to win something this year. Our defense is probably one of the strongest in the world and this is amazing considering where were we two years ago.
Schuster is starting to prove he has what it takes to lead the Club like Madrid. He still has to learn a lot but like the team he is growing with every single match.

That said I just hope we don't get carried away. It's a good team but it far from perfect. The results are here, but what we expect is domination :D every single game by playing beautiful football, and we are not there just jet.

The winter market is starting in less than two weeks. Soldado is probably out, maybe there is one or two more players who could leave ( loan or straight sell ). But what we need is one more striker, pure nr. 9. I know Pedja has stated many times that there won't be any new signings this winter, but I hope that is not true. We can't count on Rvn for the whole season, he is not a machine.

Let me say this one more time, probably the best Christmas present I could get. We are seven points clear and with hard schedule in January this is what I was hoping for.

    Hala Madrid.

uhh pinhead wonka, its not like pepe had one good game and thats it, hes been great all season for us and better then any of your mediocre defenders. his price tag was around 30mil in the summer, sure its alot of money but it looks like we got him on the cheap considering the way hes been playing, more then i could say for henry. u should worry about your team and their bad dependence on messi to make them click.

and who do you think u are, putting on that tough guy act as if you are going to do something, this is an INTERNET FORUM kid, more specifically the REAL MADRID forum pinhead so take your frustrations and ineptitude elsewhere

Can you guys just ignore the troll already!

I'm still over the moon right now! Man, this is the best Christmas gift I can ever have. Not just the victory, but the display of heart, determination and concentration by the whole team.

We played a very careful game and I marvelled at the perfection of our defense. I thought Pepe was a bit too rash in the beginning but he eventually settled in and had a perfect performance in the 2H, and I was really impressed by his athleticism and anticipation. Cannavaro was "da boss" and he marshalled the defense to near perfection. He was yelling and giving more instructions in the beginning to help the defense to settle in.

Diarra was energetic and did well to break up Barca's attack. He still had those erratic passes but I can live with that. Sneidjer fought hard and Baptista scored an awesome goal. Frankly, I thought our midfield didn't create too many chances but they fought hard and was all over the place. I thought Ruud struggled upfront. His assist to the goal was pure awesome, but sometime he's a bit slow and got elbowed out too easily.

Overall, super team display. This team has heart and determination, and we can only be better.

HALA MADRID and Merry Christmas to everyone!

I have been given an infraction for this post!!!??? Is there sth offensive? Maybe the term 'puppet'??? It was just because it was posted in a Barcelona forum, when the link does not say anyth about it was a Barcelona forum, it only was in the Spain section. Anyway, if they do not want to hear anyth bad when they loss they do not know anyth about football.

    Quote:
Great, great win for Real!!!!!!!! Barça was a puppet in the hands of the 'merengues'. Schuster tactically give one or two lessons to Rijkaard. Casillas was perfect (as always). Pepe was superb (partially giving reason to Calderon's €30M spent). Diarra was the boss of the midfield. Baptista is earning his place in the first-11. And RVN working for the team in a great match!

    :D

Having say that. Merry white christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been a fan of Madrid for a long time, over paying for players isn't exactly something i'm unfamiliar with, it's whether the player turns out to be great or not that matters to me.

To be honest, I'm surprised you're so upset about Pepe, sure he cost a lot but he's been great, if you want something to complain about why not Robben, Samuel, Emerson, Woodgate, Drenthe etc?

Real Madrid have made so many expensive transfers that haven't worked out that I don't see why you need to target the one transfer that might actually be worth it.

    Merry Christmas Pepitinha,

You probably got that infraction because it was a totally gloating post in their forum and you didn't even bother to post here today to celebrate with us, you only went over there to ******** with them. You and some others are the reason that we have someone trolling here now. Thanks alot.

Ok. My apologies to those who have been offended. Was not my intention. Here in Spain is part of the laugh of football, we met in the bars and we laugh about the win/losses of our team. One day I'm beaten, the other day is my turn.

Ahh, but when the trolling consists of "yeah you beat us, we didn't have a chance in the world, 7,1111 points difference, we have a team of over the hill prima donnas, I'll probably need to look for a new team to support now that Barça isn't winning anything.....bitches" can it still be called trolling? Since that is pretty much comedy gold in my eyes. :D

    Exciting game, fantastic result.

But I am a bit worried with the way we organize our counter-attack. We do everything so well until we come at the edge of the penalty area and there we seem to mess up. Yesterday we had so many opportunities where we had outnumbered the Barca defense and yet we could not create a clear opportunity out of those. The same has happened in previous matches too. I hope that the Schuster and the team will work and fix that for the future.

I watched a game with a friend who doesn't really follow spanish football. He asked me "Who is RM's RB? Fat Ronaldinho is killing him. Where is Salgado?".
Ramos has not been himself for some matches now and I think this was not a good one either. IMO, he didn't look that bad because Ronaldinho is a shadow of his former self. Also, Barcelona doesn't look for Ronaldinho like they used to. They know he is not the same and he doesn't receive a lot of balls.

I'm all for Raul being benched for Robben, if the little bald guy ever manages to stay fit. Not that he is crap like he was for the last 2 or 3 seasons, but because Robben is much more fun to watch. Still , for this game I wanted Raul to play. He always does great in games against his rivals.
Unfortunately, he disappeared and my friend asked me "Are the coaches still not allowed to sub Raul?". It is really strange, because Robinho gets subbed every game.

You have to be an incredible idiot to say Pepe is 'average' or 'talentless' after the past games, and his national team debut qualifier with Portugal.

For a team that fields Uh-Uh-Uhleguer, Barcelona fans talk a lot about other teams' defenders.Hell, most of them think they got the better deal with Thuram compared to Cannavaro.Zambrotta is healthy but the old man is played instead. That's how you prove a great hand with defenders.

Biased?Yes, a lot of members on the Madrid forum are biased. However, it's still better than being completely blind.

8 million Euro will barely even get you the Segunda B's best defender.

Ronaldinho got past him once. In the corner around the half hour mark I believe. That is all. OUr commentator said that Ronaldinho has moved over to the right hand side to try and get out of Ramos' pocket. Slight conflict of interest there. Seriously though, I don't see how anyone can say Dinho did anything of note. Compared to 2 years ago where he was waltzing past our players, he reduced himself to diving all night. I'm still questioning how he was not booked for the most ludicrous dive in the box. Cannavaro had his words with him. Sky Sports labelled that as "disgraceful" from Dinho.

Ramos got injured just before we scored and carried that injury until the 85th minute. Did anyone have their way with him defensively? The only time Iniesta dared take the right sided route was when the much slower Torres was slotted in. In attack he had a very quiet night, but I think it's a given that it was a pre-match tactic of Schuster's to limit Sergio's attacking game.

Probably because he is no where near as effective as he once was. Benched in nearly all away fixtures because he can't do anything and reduced to diving like a girl in the clubs most important classico in years. Theres also that little guy Messi. The guy who is dragging Barca on his back, including the over-weight Ronaldinho, and now that he is injured they don't find it so easy. It was a Godsend to Real Madrid that Messi was not allowed to play. I don't like players getting injured, but deep down inside me I was happy that Messi wouldn't be playing this game.
