Re: The J.LEAGUE 100 Years Vision (JFL & Regional Leagues Discussion) No relegation and three clubs will be joining JFL next year.... I believe the 3rd spot opened up as YKK AP and Alo's Hokuriku are merging to become Kataller Toyama. The three newly promoted clubs are: Mi-o Biwako, New wave Kitakyushu, and Fagiano Okayama. Out of those three Fagiano Okayama has the J status. Other clubs with J status in JFL are FC Tochigi, and Gainare Tottori. There are few other clubs who showed interest but has not applied for J status yet:Kataller Toyama, FC Ryukyu, and Arte Takasaki.

Re: The J.LEAGUE 100 Years Vision (JFL & Regional Leagues Discussion) Does anyone know why he did this? He had offers from a lot of other places, and he obviously doesn't even need the money Ryuku is paying him. It would have made sense if his wife was from japan, but his wife is a Muslim Moroccan. I would have been surprised if he even came back to coach in J1, but JFL?
Re: The J.LEAGUE 100 Years Vision (JFL & Regional Leagues Discussion) The sea? The sun? Okinawa soba? Amuro Namie...? Anyway, I can only think FC Ryukyu should be ready to buy a lot of players and make it to J2...
Re: The J.LEAGUE 100 Years Vision (JFL & Regional Leagues Discussion) Ryukyu wants to be Aston Villa... or Burnley... or West Ham...

Re: The J.LEAGUE 100 Years Vision (JFL & Regional Leagues Discussion) The crest and logo of new team Kataller Toyama: http://www.kataller.co.jp/topix.html#20071226 The "LL" in "Kataller" is shaped like a V, for Victory, as Kataller is a pun on katare meaning to win. The crest is shaped like a tulip, the Toyama prefectural (state) flower. OK, so can they get promoted right away, or will egos get in the way?
Re: The J.LEAGUE 100 Years Vision (JFL & Regional Leagues Discussion) FC Ryukyu, NW Kitakyushu, and Kataller Toyama applied for the Associate Membership. The decision will be given on mid-Feb. http://www.nikkansports.com/soccer/f-sc-tp0-20080110-305525.html
Re: The J.LEAGUE 100 Years Vision (JFL & Regional Leagues Discussion) It would be awesome to have Ryukyu in J; however, looking at the last two seasons, Troussier has A LOT of work to do... Why isn't Sagawa (the champions) applying for AM? Or did they? Can somebody update us with who has AM among those competing? I remember only Gainare Tottori and Tochigi SC.
Re: The J.LEAGUE 100 Years Vision (JFL & Regional Leagues Discussion) Sagawa are a company side and are therefore not in a position to seek J-League membership. The club have not (yet) indicated that they are interested in taking the necessary steps to become independent of Sagawa Kyubin and making themselves eligible to move up to J2. Gainare Tottori, Tochigi SC and also Fagiano Okayama are the clubs who currently have associate membership.
Re: The J.LEAGUE 100 Years Vision (JFL & Regional Leagues Discussion) And what are they waiting for...? They have murdered the opposition last year...!
Re: The J.LEAGUE 100 Years Vision (JFL & Regional Leagues Discussion) Well, clearly it's not really anything to do with results achieved on the pitch. It's a corporate decision, the same as why Honda FC have never gone for promotion to J2, or why other big companies like Sony have never financed a club beyond the lower reaches of the JFL. Unlike Honda or Sony, Sagawa Kyubin do at least have a track record of turning their branch teams over to become community-based clubs; for example, Wiese Shiogama (formerly Sagawa Kyubin Tohoku) in the Tohoku League and most notably JFL newcomers FC Mi-o Biwako Kusatsu (formerly Sagawa Kyubin Kyoto). But it will be interesting to see whether or not the fact that Sagawa Kyubin SC and FC Mi-o are both based in Shiga prefecture is an issue for the company.
Re: The J.LEAGUE 100 Years Vision (JFL & Regional Leagues Discussion) Furtho this one's probably best directed to you... What exactly does associate membership get ya? What are the requirements? And as far as Bandionce is concerned, I'd love to see them up in the J League for the sole purpose of having another game to go to that's so close. (stop laughing back there) Even vissel fans can dream....more people to throw things at...drooooooool.
Re: The J.LEAGUE 100 Years Vision (JFL & Regional Leagues Discussion) This will help you (I worked on this page entirely): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J._League_Associate_Membership
Re: The J.LEAGUE 100 Years Vision (JFL & Regional Leagues Discussion) Tochigi, Tottori and Banditonce started as clubs for prefectural schoolteachers' associations so it was much easier for them to professionalize (since all that was required was to drop the profession criteria) and thus you wonder what kind of financial backing they get from interested parties, since they're not backed by a company. As much as I'd like Banditonce to become the Bristol Rovers to Vissel's City, I don't think the infrastructure or fan support is adequate just yet. Honda needs to professionalize. The Tenryuside derby needs to be brought back!
Re: The J.LEAGUE 100 Years Vision (JFL & Regional Leagues Discussion) Kataller Toyama and New Wave Kitakyushu recieved their J. League Associate Membership. But the league rejected FC Ryukyu's application.
Re: The J.LEAGUE 100 Years Vision (JFL & Regional Leagues Discussion) These two clubs joins three other Associate Members, Tottori, Tochigi, and Okayama. In other words, if any of these five clubs finishes top four, they are likely to recieve J2 promotion.Assuming 18 JFL clubs are put into computer-generated random ranking system, the chances of one club finishing top four is 76.63%.We most likely see at least one more new J2 club by end of this season.
