Not sure if he'll start but he should definitely be on the bench. He played 45mins for our reserve team (who won 4-0 against Bolton) a few days ago and played very well.

thats good news. I think he could be one of our most, if not most, important player. but does anyone agree with him playing as a dm? i know this is how he started, but he is excellent on the wing, his speed, skills and crossing is strong points that might not be utulized in this new position. Although he can run up and down alot and his lethal shot is still useful here and his defensive skills are solid enough.

idk i like valencia, and i like that the team likes him. hes a crowd pleaser, but i would like to see him in villareal. santander is not doing bad this season and by the sound of it he has spot earned the only fight would be to keep it that way. I like wigan, i just wish that their battle wasnt against relegation. We'll see. Valencia is amazing that is all i know.

I just saw Fulham vs Wigan (1-1). Valencia had the most perfect chance for a goal, all by himself vs the keeper but he failed to convert. He was quite alive during the second half, and although he could've made some better passes I'd say he played a fairly decent game.

He was easily Wigan's most exciting player. Everytime he gets the ball on the right he seems like he will take on defenders and make something happen.

The chance he missed was bad luck, he was running too fast and pushed the ball too far ahead of himself. If he gets some goals he will gain confidence and be hard to stop.

Valencia's face was in a lot of camera shots..
It just shows how much involvement he had during the game.
He's an exciting player to watch. Hopefully he gets more chances
on goal and begins to score.

i dunno if that would be a good idea for antonio hes an amazing player but liverpool have some really good players. Wigan loves valencia the coach the fans he doing wonderfull there , if i were him i would want more money and finish my career wit wigan. Wigan is not that big of a club , but bruce is a really good coach , if bruce were to leave on day valencia should go whrever he goes cuz bruce might coach man u one day.

07/10/2008 19:15 United Still Chasing Valencia

Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan has revealed that English and European champions Manchester United continuing to chase star winger Antonio Valencia.

    http://www.goal.com/en/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=901161

It's going to be a gruesome battle between the two rivals.. who will win this tug of war for Luis Antonio Valencia Mosquera ??? ManU or Liverpool ??

I am not a fan of niether.. but I would love to see him in any of the two .. but somehow Man U. has a better sound to it.. it's like saying .. hey I got into Harvard!... To say one of ours is in the most popular, wealthiest, most fan base, one of the most winningest teams in the world with world champion players as teammates is really something to be proud about when it comes to our futbol and what class of players the country can produce.

One thing is saying "I went to Harvard and I gratuated bottom of my class", the other thing is to say "I went to the University of Syracuse and I graduated top of the class".

Don't get me wrong, I don't think Valencia will "fail" at Man U or Liverpool, but the competition might not allow him to reach the great opportunity to reach and continue his growth as a player. He might not play in a top team, but he plays against them all the time. He meets his competition on the field and by playing 90 minutes he gets to play top futbol.

My interest is not in Man U or Liverpool to become better teams with Valencia (I'm a Chelsea fan :p) and my main concern is what Valencia brings back to Ecuador.

I would like to see Wigan do better in Europe for Valencia's sake.

For now, Wigan has suffered a bit from the scoreboard but they are a good team. With the Spurs, Everton and Pompey not doing as well as expected and ewith a whole season still ahead, I hope Wigan makes it into the top 8 teams and hopefully, next season, with Wigan, we can see Valencia do more and play more competitive football.

I don't think it says much of Ecuadorian players that players play in top teams, it says much more what Ecuador can do as a NT.

    I don't know...my two cents!

Wigan's Valencia now interesting Real Madrid
    22.12.08 | Ian Ferris
Spanish giants Real Madrid have emerged as shock contenders for Wigan winger Antonio Valencia, claims The Mirror.

New coach, Juande Ramos, has given the Bernabeu board a list of Premier League targets.

The 23 year old is a surprise name on that list and could provoke a bid of £14m in the transfer window.

I just hope he does not end up in a club that he will be benched, like Manchester united or Real Madrid.

If Valencia goes, it would be great if Wigan picked up Guerron to play on the right side. Seems like they are keen on Ecuadorian players.

that would be kind of interesting...but i'm still on the fence about his maturity level...sadly with guerron, his ego got too big and maybe now he's getting a gut check...hes a great player that needs to focus on his game and less on the prestige of the club, if he plays hard and is consistent, everything else falls into place.

Following a few rounds of preliminary dialogue, Real Madrid appear to have reached a decision in their attempt to sign Luis Antonio Valencia from Premier League side, Wigan Athletic in the winter trade period.

Los Blancos sporting director, Predrag Mijatovic is believed to be in favour of a six-month loan deal for the 23-year-old, with the option to buy the player outright come June during the summer transfer market.

Bull$hit!! No f'ing way. Stay at Wigan and stay in top form. After 6 months, these guys will want to buy Ronaldo for $100M and will have to dump anybody that's on loan.
