Well that just bums me out. Believe it or not, Quiet Riot was one of the first bands to ever make an impression on me, way back in the early days of MTV. Well, a favorable impression, at least; Boy George (to name but one) scared the hell out of me at first, but I loved Quiet Riot. Especially this video.

    Man, I feel old now.

    Welcome to the club! :D

Back in early 80's, when I was a wee-lad in Laredo, Texas, there was a rock radio station that used to have a late late night heavy metal show. I remember that I had one of those hip-hop beat box radios and just happened to come across that particular radio station. The DJ announced that there was this band hitting it big with their new released LP with a particular song that they were going to debut that night. The band. Quiet Riot. The song...."Cum On Feel The Noize."

Sad to hear about his death. :(

    Time stops for no man.

Sad to hear about his death, but my recollection of him was that he was kind of an ass.

Hard to respect a group who's biggest (only?) hit was a cover.

"Bang Your Head (Metal Health)", although not as commercially successful as the "Cum On Feel The Noise" Slade cover, was still pretty strong.

First metal band to have a #1 selling album is why they should be respected.
