This link does a search for campaign contributors by zip code. http://www.orlandosentinel2.com/data/campaign2007-2008/ This one shows you the zip codes across the USA http://maps.huge.info/zip.htm Putting the two together, of course, lets you figure out where is giving to who. I was surprised how much support Mitt Romney is getting from my neighborhood.
Some clown had $25 buck coming out of his paycheck every pay period going to McCain. And then the CEO of Homedics donated $2300 along with his wife to Guliani. The only other candidate to receive money was Romney. There were no Dems. That shouldn't surprise me because I live in a pretty buttoned down area of Michigan. Not as bad as the western side of the state, but we have our share of wingnuts here.
Lebanon KS 66952, the geographic center of the lower 48, "No results were found for your search. Please try again." Apparently the cattle just don't care who wins. Frankly I don't have a beef with that.
I live on the UWS of Manhattan so there were no real surprises in the giving patterns of my neighbors... mostly a mix of the top dems (clinton and obama) with the occasional Investment Banker for Romney or Giuliani
Out of curiosity, where do you live AM? Is it relatively high in mormon population? I'm curious because I get the impression that mormons are donating everything they can to get a mormon president.
you'd think more Michiganders would give to the Democrats considering how good the Democrats have done at running Michigan, what with the great Kwame Kilpatrick and Jennifer Granholm pretty much ruining the state. Not to mention the corruption of John Conyers.
My neighborhood isn't especially jam-packed with mormons but about half of them gave to Romney. Another considerable percentage gave to McCain with a handful giving to others, mostly Edwards.
I'm surprised Edwards' supporters have given him any money at all. It seems like all they want is to take money away from others... Maybe his supporters view it as an investment for future "earnings".
Do you live in Michigan? If you do, then you know f**k-all about my state. Go back to the kids table.
You may find this donation search better. At least it has the temerity to list all of the candidates: http://fundrace.huffingtonpost.com/
My town is heavily Obama. Of course, its also heavily black middle-class, so that may have something to do with it too.
I'm from Chicago and going to law school in Madison. Obviously in both places the Republicans' donations are pocket change to the Democrats'.
Lots of middling donations ($25-$1000) for Clinton, Obama, and (surprisingly) Richardson, mixed in with occasional maxed out Rudy contributors in my neighborhood in Brooklyn. (Anyone else notice the pattern that Giuliani seems to have maxed out a lot of his supporters?) I've also concluded that I live near lots of lawyers.
I'll give you all one guess on who neg repped me. That really is a p*ssy feature on here. Anyway, the Huffingtonpost search still pulls up the same dillholes. Again, I'm not surprised. Oakland County is heavily Reep with the exception of a few pockets.
I guess when some people can't stand the heat, they throw grenades in through the kitchen window. In my area, Obama is most popular, Edwards gets the most money, Clinton is third in both areas, and out of 118 contributions 8 were to Republicans.
There's no home for you here. Go away. ------ Anywho, here are the numbers for K street, DC 20037 28 Romney 153 Clinton 100 Obama 18 Edwards 61 McCain 3 Thompson 12 Richardson The smaller numbers usually are made up of people working for video stores and the like. You can cut and past the results in excel and use COUNTIF to total them up by name.
Crying? No. I just prefer to air dirty laundry on a message forum. It's much more cathartic than lobbing weak negrep with snarky comments. Notice: I can call you an unmitigate douchebag in public and feel much better about myself.
I'm glad you feel better about yourself. Go ahead and call me that all you want if it makes you feel that way.
Across the river in Alexandria, 22209 30 Clinton 13 Romney 53 Obama 16 Giuliani 22 Mccain 5 Thompson 10 Richardson 9 Edwards
Mentor and Eastlake, Ohio 44060/44061, considered an ohio swing county 0 Clinton 0 Romney 11 Obama 1 Giuliani 4 Mccain 0 Thompson 1 Richardson 5 Edwards
There's a story here but I'm not sure what it is. The pattern seems to be that the regular contributors are in with Team Clinton and the people on the outside are for Obama. On the Republican side it seems to be Team Romney but not nearly so well defined. Some smart reporter/blogger is going to put this together.
Wow. Out of $7350 in my zip, only $1250 to Dems. Looks like they're using their law office addresses. Oh. By the way.. I know all about my state and Blackmail isn't so far off. When the state of the state is written up nation-wide, it's kinda hard to hide the facts...
