Re: New Red Bull Park While I dont dislike Tailgating, it never really was for me. I prefer the spilling out into the streets situation. It's a different vibe, thats all. Just vibing with different people out in the street and the back and forth is nice. I hope that Harrison has that for the sake of RBNY.
Re: New Red Bull Park I dont like the look of the one tier and then the luxury boxes...it looks cheap.
Re: New Red Bull Park At this point let's just get the construction process started already! It's still the best looking stadium currently in the league.
Re: New Red Bull Park i guess u and I will be finnishing off the Guinness at the pub haha im down haha....

Re: Red Bulls Webcam Park I got the same thing. Bet Joe Vide's dad used to be in charge of the site....
Re: Red Bulls Webcam Park They are redesigning the site, that page doesnt exist anymore....hopefully its a sign of change.
Re: Red Bulls Webcam Park i park there every day to take the PATH train to work... i had seen a slight change... some bulldozers in new positions, but nothing revolutionary.
Re: New Red Bull Park redbullpark.com is being redesigned. it should be interesting to see the changes when its up and running again. just giving yall a heads up if you havent noticed.
Re: New Red Bull Park I wouldn't worry about it, something tells me nothing about this stadium will look cheap - hence, the delay. Use this as some inspiration . . I think the photo there will provide a real life example of what that will look like. Keep in mind also, the design is done in such a way that they can add a second tier. I think they aren't trying to run before they can walk.
Re: New Red Bull Park Have you looked at where the stadium is? There won't be any spilling out into the streets. It is a warehouse area. They are going to build condos and shops. It isn't in a neighborhood. Actually most stadiums in neighborhoods face constant pressure as the neighbors don't like the drunken crowds spilling out and ruining their evenings. I don't know what the area is around Chicago, but it is not in Chicago and they run a special bus out to the stadium. It isn't downtown. I can't pile into one of the pubs, I will have an hour and forty-five minute drive home. They are going to have a 1,500 space open parking garage, which will have to be shared with commuters on weekdays. There will be no open fire tailgating. To give you an idea GS has 25,000 parking spaces. that is one space for every 3 people. Harrison will have one space for every 16 people.
Re: New Red Bull Park It would be 2 1/2 hours each way by train, at a minimum. I would watch on TV instead
Re: New Red Bull Park It kind of reminds me in a way of la Bombonera, and I love that stadium. It has an unmistakeable character to it, because of its odd appearance. I love odd characteristics about certain stadiums. I see this or that feature, and I instantly know where I am. The tall column of luxury boxes sort of adds interest to the design, I think. It's a big beautiful wall of glass. It's a feature that will stand out some. I like it in the way like the retro designs for new baseball stadiums being purposely asymmetrical, trying to get away from the cookie-cutter designs of the 60s and 70s, which don't work so well aesthetically. Incorporate some feature that stands out, and you can create an instant classic.
Re: New Red Bull Park well nebraska you are right but it isn't exactly that easy, speaking as a designer. This stadium will be an improvement over any other ones in MLS and directly influence the next to be built. It is still no Allianz but we'll all get there. There do seem to be some bad seats just to either side of the luxury boxes, but it is hard to tell for sure.
Re: New Red Bull Park to add, I think it will feel different than the salzburg stadium. The salzburg is bigger, but less enclosed. There is a substantial opening even above the not yet finished second tier, for light to enter in. On three sides of the harrison stadium, accordign to these views, there will be no light coming in. It will feel like we are inside a room.
Re: New Red Bull Park the only thing that worries me on the stadium is that wavey curve and lowerd part of the roof.... it may cause soem rain to come in a nd some wind.... i wonder if.... where the part that the roof drops will there be some glass there also from preventing some wind and rain in............. this stadium reminds me of the dallas stadium.... couldnt they add 50 mill and get a moving roof in the middle(just kidding haha)
Re: New Red Bull Park There will be a gap on both sides of the luxury boxes between the top seating tier on both ends. As the top seating tier starts to arch around to the luxury boxes it stops, so that fans sitting at the end could still view the game.
Re: New Red Bull Park If I'm correct here, I think stadia salzburg was expanded to 30,000 for Euro 08. In recent reports, it's has been stated that Red Bull Park will have a greater capacity than 25,000 due to the removal of the stage...I am assuming here, but the capacity could be near to that of stadia salzburg around 30,000 to 32,000. Section from the artcle in foxsport: The New York Red Bulls paid an undisclosed sum to buy Anschutz Entertainment Group's 50 percent share of Red Bull Park in Harrison, N.J., the club announced Friday. The deal will result in modifying the design to increase the capacity to more than 25,000 and remove a concert stage to make the facility a soccer-only venue. http://msn.foxsports.com/soccer/story/7455598
