wow, im still laughing! i just cant believe we got though it all! beer shower at 0!!! that made it worth going to....for once every section and the SE's were all in unison!
my voice is shot from that one. i got nauseaus from not breathing around 20 bottles great time filler, how long did it take? 20 min?
Awesome - simply awesome. A classic Barra Brava/Screaming Eagles/RFK moment. I have been in Barra for 10+ years and that was top 10 by far!
Snowhite and I started singing that from 100 and thought it might go to 95 tops. I wasn't sure if we'd be hounded or thanked for however long it went. I don't think I've ever heard it go down to 0. Regardless, it was quite a spectacle.
Yeah, I told Hillary about it on the way back to lot 8 (that and the "Sale at Macy's cheer) and when she started to sing it I honestly thought I would go crazy. I don't want to hear that song for a LOOOOOONG time! But it sure was sweet when it was happening!!! Now if we only got the "This is the song that never ends" going.....
Wow, Srdan can we move this thread to Lot 8? It made the Barra look like total shit... fcking embarrassing...
I want to thank the SE for great hospitality. However, when did you guys sing this song? I was in 139 and never heard a peep of it.
Glad the gang that did show had fun, but Chico is right... its kind of embarassing. For what it was worth even the TV crew was laughing at (not with) the DC United chants etc coming out of the crowd. They basically said "someone needs to remind the Barra who is playing today..." Not one of our better PR days... Personally, I think the "league" would have been a hell of a lot better served by having the Houston fans filling those sections. They looked good, came a long way to support their team, and more importantly had a reason for being there. Don't even get me started on the damn SE banners... They fought with the Barra all season long trying to spread them and now there is a game DC isnt even playing in and they still had to put their shit up. --Dont you think Houston fans deserved to get a chance to support their team in their cup? And why we have to see that fcking England flag of theirs EVERYGAME in the corner is beyond me... But I digress
If Oscar had wanted to, he could have sold the seats to Houston fans, or let Fred sell them to people other than the Barra - but I still personally thought it was good there was a Barra presence in the stadium where it belonged, and any embarrassment feeling is unnecessary. Now, being out-smoke-bombed in your own sections might be
whenever some outsider or another club's supporter starts a thread complaining about the chanting at RFK, everyone bands together to tell them to ******** off. why are we suddenly scrutinizing each other?
Had I only known... Alas, I've already committed myself to learning self dentistry in the off season. It sounds as fun.
Can't we all just get along? No? Ah well, ******** it... Back on the topic of the beer song, well, I thought it was much more appropriate than singing DC United chants, since, like the oh-so-astute espn crew apparently pointed out, we weren't actually playing. I mean, I have trouble going to a game and *not* singing...so 99 bottles actually gave us something to sing while we passed the time. Though my personal favorite chant was directed at Jay Heaps after the tying goal: "It's all your fault! It's all your fault! It's all your fault!" It's funny because it's true.
i thought we would all be sitting down for the whole match and just spectating. "mayor fenty is the ********** of the game, the ********** of the game.........."
