El Veloz Gonzalez, a commentator for 1330 ESPN radio, said last night that he had credible sources informing him that Lalas was going to bring this player from Turkey in exchange for Landon Donovan. He said that Donovan's contract has a clause estipulating that Donovan is to play only in Los Angeles. Not necessarily Los Angeles Galaxy. If this is true it will open the door for Chivas to get Donovan.

I can't conceive Lalas making this kind of move. What do you think?

I cant see this either. Chivas is a decent team now. They need butts in the seats by bringing in a mexican player and I just dont see Donovan putting butts in the seats for them.

If he did move to Chivas, I would have utter disdain for him and consider his career deader than a door nail. He ultimately failed to make his mark in Europe, played for the SJ Smurfs (our hated rivals), moved here becuase of the weather and wifey basically, and if he went to our other hated rivals, he never had heart for LAG. That would actually make me pretty well sick. We all know Pete sucked this year, but Id rather have him who bleeds LAG and cares about the team, than some stupid journeyman. I am not calling Landon this, but if he did end up with Chivas, I would have every right to. I repeat, I like Donovan, I want him here, but if he goes to Chivas, man thats the last straw.

A very good player, with plenty of champions league exp, 3 yrs ago would have been a great player for you guys but at his age he can smell the dollars in a i wouldnt mind a vacation and get payed for it kind of way!. Seriousley why doesnt your team pay good wages to bring over young talented south american, or central american players hungry for 1st team places??, better than a washed up has been like this:confused:

I don't know his year in England, but he failed in Italy. I guess he gives (gave) his best in his own Country.

Hakan Şükür moving to LA galaxy would be really comical, although I have respect for what he achieved in his past where no other Turkish footballer has achieved... I think he is a complete idiot. He passed his prime back in 2003, he was dropped from the national team by our ex-(great)coach and Hakan caused an uproar and was one of the main reason the coach got sacked from the NT even when he did a good job with the national team. So we got a new incompetent coach so that he can play Hakan and ruined our National Team. I blame Hakan and his new bum chum that our National Team is doing so bad.

So basically I hate this guy, he seems like a baby. But it would be great if we had a Turkish player playing for a big foreign team.

I think that if this transfer happens, it will only happen because of his name not because of his stinking poor football skills.

What? Are you saying that Fatih Terim "the Emperor" is an incompetent coach?
One of my favorite ex-Fiorentina coaches. :)

And you are not doing so bad, are you? Only Bosnia between you and EURO 2008.

A little trigger happy, aren't we? And why would you blame Landon? Because IF this deal were to happen, it wouldn't be at Landon's request. He's already said, numerous times, that (1) he wants to play for the Galaxy and (2) he does not want to play for chivas, that it's just not even an option.

If this were to happen, Alexi Lalas would be the one to blame. Not Landon. Bottom line, a player has to go when they're sent away.

Can anybody translate on what the article says?

    Galaxy'e gel Hakan

Morali iyice bozulan Hakan Şükür’e Hollandalı eski dostu Gullit’ten ilginç bir telefon geldi. Beckham’ın takımı Galaxy’nin yeni teknik direktörü Gullit’in, Hakan’ı arayıp, Amerika’ya gelmesini istediği öğrenildi.

That's not the point, when there is a new up and coming talented and young superstar, and he is a bit Turkish then Fatih will snap him up for one game and only to never use him again so that person will not play for another national team and will then soon get dropped for the U21. I don't liek that method.

    Come to Galaxy, Hakan

Hakan Sukur's old friend Guillit had called him up and told him that he wants Hakan to move to America.

    ---
In my opinion, this article has no back up then don't believe it. I think that this rumour is BS and was made up from thin air.

I tried to clean up the Armenina / Turkish debate, but editing so many posts quickly became ludicrous -- so I had to bin posts from veteran posters and new posters alike.

Please keep political discussions out of the forum. And hateful language will get you banned from the forum and probably from all of Big Soccer.

So, let me get this straight:

    1. You go through the trouble of making an account on BigSoccer!, just for the sake of posting this short message.
    2. You go through the trouble of navigating specifically to the Los Angeles Galaxy forum.
    3. You don't post any educated or well-formulated reason as to why you don't like the MLS
    4. And to top it all off, your doing this...on F**KING THANKSGIVING.

And your telling US to get a life...rigggghhhtt......Well, you know that saying, the biggest homeophobe is probably gay themselves - theory behind the saying probably applies here. The guy who saids everyone is a loser is....[insert answer here].

Actually, I was planning in supporting Italian Soccer but then I realized that not even foreigners want to play in that country. Just ask Kaka :) And dont mention all the match fixing that goes on there

    Just to put things straight.

This Kakà quote you read everywhere is out of context. He has a contract up to 2010 more or less, and still he is already negotiating for more years with Milan. Not something to expect from someone who wanted to leave Italy, is it?

Tell me one foreign player who doesn't want to play in Italy - and tell me why, if it's not because of money.

Match fixing? I suppose there is more matchfixing in England and Germany, based on what newspapers have reported in recent years. Or even in my Finland (see the Alliansi case). Italian Calciopoli was not about match fixing, more about trying to influence referees and public opinion. But that's something of the past. As much as I hate Juventus as a Fiorentina fan, they payed (too little in my opinion) and they are a new team now, with new management.

Genocide is an opinion that the Armenians claim to keep their separatist ideology in the USA. They want pity but refuse to assimilate and want to work the system for whatever they get. Wish that they would stop the pity party. Jewish folks, that was a genocide! But this isn't the place for this discussion, let's talk the real issue!

Please not another washed up has been! Didn't we learn from Herzog, Pavon, Hernandez & Hermosillo?

to quote Nancy Reagan, "Just Say NO!"

Herzog wasn't bad at all. If we would have gotten him 5 years earlier we'd all love him. Fact is Sampson came in and benched him.

According to his own autobiography, After his row with Manchester United, some of the first transfer offers he received were from Italian clubs - presumably some of the big-name ones like AC/Inter Milan and/or Juventus. Becks said that while he was flattered, he wanted to go play for Real Madrid for various reasons, influenced quite heavily by what he saw when playing against them in the 2002 UEFA Champions League quarter finals. It was he who took the first step and asked his management to contact Real Madrid expressing his interest to play for them.

The only difference between the German assault on the Jews and the Turkish assault on the Armenians is that the American soldier was there to document German crimes.

And the Germans are far more efficient.

That was some years ago, and who wouldn't play for Real or Barcelona? Interestingly, this year Beckham would have gone to Italy had not Galaxy made its offer.

    This is American jealousy.

Probably in 20 years or less MLS will become one of world's big leagues.

Any Galaxy fan should be disappoint of Hakan's age. What is important is can he still be effective in winning games for LAG?

Just like Blanco, Sheep Messing criticised Chicago Fire for adding an aging player in their roster. Messing changed tone when he saw Blanco still has the kicks at 34 (or 35).
