why would anyone eat at McDonalds when there is In-N-Out, unless you live where there is no In-N-Out, in which case, you should move.

But the thread is about McDonald's, not the best burger.

Anyone try those "healthy" sandwiches at McD? I thin i tried one when they first came out, but was extremely disappointed. I don't like them at all.

Which ones are you talking about? If you mean the "Deli Choices" sandwiches, we don't get those where I live.

Ack. Looks disgusting. I think it goes back to my dislike of potatoes at breakfast. Anyway, I went to McDonalds' site to find out what's in it, and got this:

    McSkillet Burrito™ with Sausage:
Flour Tortilla: Enriched flour (bleached wheat flour, malted barley flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), water, vegetable shortening (may contain one or more of the following: hydrogenated soybean oil, soybean oil, partially hydrogenated soybean oil, hydrogenated cottonseed oil with mono- and diglycerides added), contains 2% or less of the following: sugar, leavening (sodium aluminum sulfate, calcium sulfate, sodium phosphate, baking soda, corn starch, monocalcium phosphate), salt, wheat gluten, dough conditioners (sodium metabisulfite, distilled monoglycerides). CONTAINS: WHEAT. Scrambled Eggs (PWE): Pasteurized whole eggs with sodium acid pyrophosphate, citric acid and monosodium phosphate (all added to preserve color), nisin (preservative). Prepared with Liquid Margarine: Liquid soybean oil, water, partially hydrogenated cottonseed and soybean oils, salt, hydrogenated cottonseed oil, soy lecithin, mono- and diglycerides, sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate (preservative), artificial flavor, citric acid, vitamin A palmitate, beta carotene (color). CONTAINS: EGG, SOY LECITHIN. Potato/Vegetable Blend: Potatoes, onions, roasted green peppers and red peppers, partially hydrogenated vegetable oil (soybean and/or cottonseed) and/or vegetable oil (canola, corn, cottonseed, palm, soybean and/or sunflower oil), contains 2% or less of the following: corn syrup solids, dehydrated bell pepper, dextrose, disodium dihydrogen pyrophosphate (color retention), disodium inosinate, disodium guanylate, garlic powder, maltodextrin, food starch-modified, natural flavors (fruit and vegetable source), onion powder, paprika (color), salt, spices. Sausage Patty: Pork, whey protein concentrate, water, salt, corn syrup solids, sugar, spices, dextrose, monosodium glutamate, spice extractives, caramel color, BHA and BHT and propyl gallate and citric acid (preservatives). CONTAINS: MILK. Pasteurized Process American Cheese: American cheese (pasteurized milk, cheese culture, salt, enzymes), water, milkfat, sodium citrate, sodium phosphate, salt, sorbic acid (preservative), acetic acid, artificial color, soy lecithin and/or corn starch (added for slice separation). CONTAINS: MILK, SOY LECITHIN. Salsa Roja: Diced tomatoes (with tomato juice, citric acid and calcium chloride), water, fire roasted tomatoes, fire roasted green jalapeno pepper puree, onion, red Anaheim pepper puree, garlic, distilled vinegar, cilantro, salt, lime juice concentrate, food starch-modified, paprika, spices, soybean oil, sodium acid sulfate, sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate (preservatives), xanthan gum, citric acid. Shredded Cheddar/Jack Cheese: Cheddar cheese [pasteurized milk, cheese culture, salt, enzymes, annatto (color)], Monterey jack cheese (pasteurized milk, cheese culture, salt, enzymes), potato starch, corn starch and powdered cellulose (prevent caking), natamycin (natural mold inhibitor). Thank you, sir. What the hell that's good for you has ever tasted as good as that which is not?

It's amazing how a ground beef pattie with onions, mustard, ketchup, bread and some cheese can offend so many people. I've heard the same thing about Taco Bell, Hardees, Wendy's, Burger King and every other fast-food place anyone else can think of. It's ridiculous. Eat what you want- but you will die at some point, and grinding through another five or ten years by gnawing on raw lentils and celery isn't for everyone. If I ate only those things that were healthy for me, I'd have to alter my entire way of living, and I'd end up using my kitchen for something other than extra storage.

For the record, I usually enjoy the Hot Cakes & Sausage with a side order of eggs. Six butters (two per cake, applied, restacked and then microwaved for 30 sec.) two syrups and one packet of mild salsa for the sausage and eggs. Maybe once every ten days or so.

If I'm going there for anything other than breakfast, it's a Quarter Pounder Value Meal, or a Double QPVM. Either one will have lettuce and a tomato slice added. I never liked Big Macs, and cheeseburgers have too small a pattie.

I'm on my way to Waffle House in a few minutes for a steak & eggs dinner. If they have a salad with lettuce that isn't khaki, I'll have that, too.
