Morrissey @ Hammerstein Ballroom, 10/26. I've seen him a bunch before and he's never sounded better. The band rocked hard, too. Great show.
I wish I had seen this before I left. I should have known better Awesome show! I appreciate them so much more now.
Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals 28 October 2007 Alabama Theatre Birmingham, Alabama It was been's b'day tonight so there was definitely some added energy. Great show.
Morrissey at Hammerstein Ballroom last Friday. The Editors some time ago when they played Webster Hall.
Big Boi (of Outkast) 1 November 2007 Bobby Dodd Stadium Atlanta, Georgia I guess it's not really a concert, but he did 4-5 songs at half time of the Virginia Tech vs. Georgia Tech game.
New Pornographers in Lawrence, KS Backed up by Emma Pollock and Immaculate Machine. All three were excellent. For NP, Bejar was very drunk, Neko was in amazing form (finishing the show with Letter from an Occupant) and Kathryn Calder was incredible.
I was there. It's amazing to see 3 guys play that obviously don't like each other. It was like an equilateral triangle up on stage with nobody ever getting near each other. Still a good show though (But Bruce Springsteen will be better on Sunday/Monday).
There's just been a lot of good stuff lately. It tends to be feast or famine around here. I am a music junkie though.
Porter-Batiste-Stoltz 7 November 2007 Capital Ale House Richmond, VA Ended up being a fun show. And with over 450 beers to choose from, a good place to enjoy a few pints while taking in some tunes.
Went to the ZappaPlaysZappa show last night at the Warner Theatre in DC. Absolutely fantastic. Dweezil playing his dads old Gibson SG and scorching it. But the best part was the encore were Frank appeared on a big screen behind the stage and played some smoking leads on Muffin Man while the group on stage backed him up.
Band of Horses, The Drones, and Tyler Ramsey tonight 11/12/07. Tyler Ramsey was a bit boring... ok though. I did not enjoy the Drones at all. They're from Melbourne, Australia. I thought they were loud just for the sake of being loud... and not all that talented. Band of Horses... they were great. Really enjoyed the show. It was at the Metro in Chicago.
Did Hank III open the show? I wanted to go see them both here, but the ticket was something like $25 before service charge and that seemed a bit high.
