you're right, having hernandez in the team was something unexplainable to us all... but, well yeah he ************ed up like always.. but anyways hehe... who the hell is beasley? the only american known down here in Mexique is cobi jones and maybe donovan ("the american pele" lol) and just why would I want donovan in our team by the way? doesnt he play in the mls?
First off I understand that rivalries being as they are, Márquez is not popular in the States. It is also true that there may be better central defenders in the world for a better price. The average level in Argentina is excellent. Madrid's signing of Milito may be just as good or better. Barça also tends to burn out good defenders, we dumped Laurent Blanc when he was still worth half a decade of good play, we also pushed out Popescu who maybe still had the stuff. Since we try to attack always in ideal circumstances, and often play only with three back, central defenders are easily exposed. Márquez, it must be said, is not that fast either. But he can play the ball out of the back on the ground. But the question about the signing that is important is that Barça probably has a better sense of who can work in the position than the geniuses following MLS. I trust Frank Rijkaard's opinion over most US followers. If the world is not breaking down the doors to sign the US national defenders in MLS, who would go relatively cheaply and make about 5 times as much money (not just Barça, not anyone!), maybe that could be a message. Keller was only average on a crap team like Rayo, Razov was at the bottom of Spain 2nd division and now many want to see him shine for the US nats. I have no doubt that perhaps the world is mistaken in some cases (why in the world has noone made an attractive offer for Donovan, or even Beasely, esp considering their age?). I also think that US nats in MLS have to stick their necks out and do something in favour of their careers, maybe risk things a bit, speculate on a more spectacular future. Or is being readily availabe for Arena enough for them? In short, playing for Monaco or in general in France is more reliable for all top clubs than the cushy circumstances of MLS (read Ronaldinho, who after all was not even on a Republic-shaking team this past season).
Your smack is as good as your national football side in the second round of the World Cup. 2-0, slut.
BOY FOR SOMEONE WHO THOUGHT HE WAS WASTING HIS TIME TALKING RESPONDING TOO ME YOU SURE SPENT ALOT OF TIME BREAKING DOWN WHAT I SAID. HE WAS CONSISTENTLY BURNED BY US FORWARDS IN QUALIFYING AND IN THE WORLD CUP. BOCA IS THE BETTER DEFENDER RAFA IS BETTER OFFENSIVELY BUT I BELIEVE HE SCORED ONLY ONCE LAST SEASON FOR MONACO(ACCORDING TO A BIG BOARD POST) HE WILL BE ABOUT AS EFFECTIVE AS BLANCO AND PALENCIA OVER THERE. YES ID DO SEE THE MEXICAN GROUPIE BOARDS TO SEE WHAT NONESENSE THEY SAY BUT CANT SAY ANYTHING BECAUSE THEY THREATEN A YELLOW CARD FOR EVEN A HINT CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM. AND IM SURE RAFA IS JUST SOOOOOOO OVERJOYED THAT YOUR DEFENDING HIM. YES I READ WHAT SEAGORVE WROTE.(NO DEROGATORY TERM TOWARDS YOUR SEXUALITY NECESSARY.)
I might be wasting my time, but it's my day off, so I've got time to waste Just because the US scored two goals in each of the games Marquez played doesn't mean that Marquez was the one burned for the goals. Suarez was the one victimized in the Columbus qualifier, and was also exposed as painfully slow, it was about his 165th cap or so and by then he really didn't need to be out there. In the WC game, both US goals were scored because of intelligent runs made on the backside. Marquez was playing the cross in both situations, and had to come back and help guys who'd gotten beat and by then it was too late. Taking nothing away from Boca, he's a good player and is sure to get better, but he has a ways to go before he reaches Marquez' level and saying he's a better defender than Marquez is utterly, utterly laughable. At age 21 Marquez was a vital part of Monaco's championship team earning unqualified praise from guys like Didier Deschamps and Fabien Barthez. Furthermore, Rafa's value as an offensive player isn't in his ability to score goals, but his ability to start the attack from the back because he can play the ball out of there with his feet. If the US had a defender like that, it'd make life tons easier for Donovan. Blanco and Palencia definitely didn't set the league on fire there, but they both showed flashes of what they could do. The key difference between Marquez and those two is that Marquez is making it to Spain at a younger age than both of them and already has the experience of playing in a European league. Adjustment difficulties should be minimal in a move from France to Spain as opposed to one from Mexico to Spain. US fans wander over to the Mexico boards all the time, a few to post constructively, some to troll and while I've seen posts deleted, I've not seen anyone get threatened with a yellow-card, much less actually yellow-carded. In any case most of the US fans that come and spout nonsense are usually chased off because their arguments are ridiculous and they don't know what they're talking about. In fact, I could have sworn I saw you post there earlier, but not in a little while. . . It doesn't matter if Levante's defending Rafa, or if I am, and it matters even less if a half-wit who can't find the caps lock button on his keyboard like you thinks he sucks. He's a quality player, he's shown it to enough people to be linked to teams in Spain, Italy and England, and finally to make the move to a big club. ricv56
BIG mistake for Barcelona, why they had to waste money for him if there's a much better player in Carlos Bocanegra ? its the stupidest signing i've ever heard in my life.
It seems that most of the people here know Rafael only 'cause of the Cobi "incident" back in 2002 *yawn*, and that's all you can comment on him and..well, that's old, I hope some of you get the chance to see him play in Barcelona, and hopefully you'll be objective, he is a very, very good player, otherwise he wouldn't be where he is, Joan Laporta was smart enough to sign him, True, mexican football fans are happy, but Barca fans are happy as well, because they know of Marquez quality, now if you can't see that, then ..er... that's fine too, lol, I doubt Barcelona, Rafael or...anyone cares about negative comments like yours.
Serious sour grapes happening here. Best of luck to him (although I hope he's otherwise incapacitated every time the US players Mexico).
Bocanegra.... Just wanted to make the point that he's a good player and I will not take anything away from him. He'll be in Europe someday. Besides...he plays for the Fire and he's an American of Mexican descent........just like me!
Re: Re: Cobi's Friend in Barcelona Kell, q bueno ver una chica en estos foros, lastima q del lado oscuro de la fuerza!
