Hi All - not sure if this is the right forum. If not please let me know where is appropriate. Maybe a DC fan can help me out, or if anyone knows anything. I'm taking Amtrak from NYC to DC's Union station the morning of the MLS Cup. I know DC has a local subway system (not sure what it is called). Does it connect Union station to RFK, if so what are the names of the stops? Any help on the best way to get to RFK from Union station would be appreciated. thanks.....
Use the Metro website to plan your trip. http://www.wmata.com/ The most direct way is to take a bus from Union Station (otherwise you backtrack and take the Red line downtown and catch an Orange or Blue line train to Stadium Armory). Plug in your times and see what's best. K
Don't worry about a bus. Just get off the train at Union Station and walk a few blocks south to the Capital South Metro Station. It's a very short walk, like less than 10 minutes, and you'll walk right past the Capital and Supreme Court. Once you get to the Capital South Metro Station, take either the Blue Line or the Orange Line to the Stadium-Armory station.
for other people who are interested in traveling to dc for the cup, some of the kind folks on the dc boards put together this thread: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=611104 . might help with some of the questions on transport and that sort of thing.
