I Think he is a great coach as he proved with Chelsea and he would probably give the red bulls a long playoff run.

Not going to happen even if we want to. No way the Special One slums it in MLS after all the trophies he was won with Porto and arguabley the best team in the world over the past 3 seasons.

Sorry guys, this is the most in demand coach in the world right now. He is just waiting for the right job to open up.

People also have to remember that coaching here right now isn't a very appealing job. We play at GS on turf, we have no true training facility, and we are called Red Bull.

Whether its meritous or not there are some coaches that will have similar emotional differences with the name like some fans do, while money usually can solve that problem there are quite a few managers around the world that may be starchly traditionalist.

Look at LA, that job was far more appealing to a coach. They play in a modern and great stadium, they have some of the best training facilities in the world, and they are much higher profile because of Beckham.

They hired Ruud Gullit. (Although IMO they should have given Klinnsman complete control over the soccre operations, but he likely would have put a stop to the endless promotional tours).

I think we have to expect a similar level of coach to come here. If we had all our facilities in place we could attract better, but we don't. Managers used to those things will be very reluctant to coach without them.

Jose- its never gona happen and we should just put down the pipe.

Sure, and while we're at it let's just sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Cristiano Ronaldo, Cesc Fabregas, Wayne Rooney and Lionel Messi, too.

They might give the Red Bulls a fighting chance.

    :p

I said arguebly pal, slow your roll.

His team won 2 EPL title, made 2 CL semi finals, numorous other domestic titles, and in all honesty is every bit as good as the other teams you listed. Its debateable who the best team was over the past 3 years, but Chelsea's name would have to be part of that debate.

PS- They aint my team so chill with the "ur blue boys" noise.

Guys like Mourinho want prominent cup, league, and european titles. MLS is a kids game to them. We have a long way to go yet.

"should" Red Bulls sign Mourinho? Like it's our choice? What, you think he's sitting by the phone waiting for a call from Salzburg or Mark de Grandpre or whomever? Somebody needs to introduce you to a little thing called reality. Jose Mourinho is not going to coach here, at least not at this stage of his career. Now please delete this thread before people in other forums see it and start making fun of us.

How did the Bora thread get locked after 2 posts, yet this one, which is far more stupid continues? There are so many reasons why this won't happen.

Because the mere mention or thought of Bora coaching the team again is enough to make Tom go nuclear.

haha I was thinking the same thing. Sadly, the chances of Bora coaching this team are far more realistic than Mourinho ever being offered, much less accepting, the job.

That said, I think RB realizes Bora's time has passed. He was never a club coach to begin with and its been quite some time since he had any kind of success on the national team level either.

    *ding*

I still wake up in a cold sweat at the image of Bora laughing his ass off as KC thumps Metro 6-0 in 1999 on Univision.

edit : I also took that thread as a joke (same I would if someone seriously put forth Clavijo or OZ)

After work, I'll probably kill this one too and set up a poll/new manager catch-all thread and close the Arena Fired thread, since that has hit 500 posts and the hamsters are ready to strike if it hits 550.

can we stop with this super star coach bull shizz already.... for this team i think peter nowak would be best for this team.... his style fits our team.... the guy knows MLS in and out and is known all over the world so scouting wouldnt be a problem

other then that i think we should go for preki but he looks stable at chivasusa or that assistant at NE what ever his name is

maybe in a few decades? remember that jose did say that he would like to coach in the MLS after he's content with his career in europe. and i'm sure his desire to take on the premiere euro leagues is still burning bright. i say bring him in, but it won't happen till... i dunno 2021?
