    Listen here virgin mary...
Shoes affect your game but not to a degree where you say "Oh I could have scored if I had my other shoes" or "Man I hate these shoes cuz it has a bad touch". Who's fault is it that you have a bad touch? You or the shoes? No brainer here.

I agree with most of the things you said but some people rely too much on shoes like it'll make them run faster or make them have touches like pros do. If that was the case, we all be pros now. If people wanna play in a higher level, maybe they should practice more. And yes, I can play pretty good in my timb boots and I don't listen to 50 cent.

If it is down to those two boots, get the legends. Might as well get the k leather. There are a bunch of sights selling legends for super cheap prices. Try nikys-sport, that is where I picked mine up for $60.

Got the f50.6 for my kid last night. He played the f30s out, so he was due. I mean besides checking the studs before practices and games. My main concern was that the studs could come off during a match, or worse, the shoe falls aparts. Me never having this type of cleat wanted to know of any tips you guys that own/owned them can give me so I can pass on.

Re: Boot Review Database - ALL BOOT CHOICE QUESTIONS HERE!!

Reviewing a boot in the same week that I purchased it is against my boot reviewing ethics, but I really feel that I can on this one. Let's call it a 'glance review'.

Overview/Reason : At the beginning of the year, I bought a pair of Puma Esito's. The Esito's were my favourite boot I have ever used, but sadly, after being used endlessly for 5 months, they literally fell apart. No boot since then has matched up to them.

Then, I found the Vencida, which I had been eying out for some time. The Vencida is essentially the model between the Puma King Exec and the Esito.

The Vencida is made of a tough calf skin leather. This leather is a great compromise between synthetic and the kangaroo leather used on the Exec. The leather is tough and feels strong - I really like how it slowly gives to the shape of your foot, while not allowing your foot to shift in the boot

Value : I paid the equivalent of 35 gbp for these boots. It's a fair price in my opinion, especially for a boot with calf skin leather.

Looks : I did not buy these boots for looks - as simple as that. They are a simple and classic looking boot. I would have preferred a white base, but this black/white colourway was all that was availible, and I was more then willing to settle for that. ALthough the leather is supposed to be black, it is more of a navy/gunmetal colour with a definite shine to it.

Comfort/Fit : Honestly, I don't buy a boot for comfort. As long as it fits properly and does not give me blisters, I'm more then happy. I believe that cushioning in the sole and leather detracts from the touch of the boot. This boot is very thin, and low to the ground - and I love it like that. The sole and boot is also the same shape as my foot. I have bought the boots tight, and they now fit like a glove. My Esito's had a fabric interior, while these Vencida's have a calf skin leather interior around the feel area - it's great.

    Touch
: The boots fit me like a glove from the second I bought them. The boot is so thin that I can feel the ball perfectly. It just can't get any better.

Overall : I bought these boots banking on the idea that they'd match up to the high standards that my Esito's set. So far, they've more then beaten those levels. More then impressed!

I realised that i am not getting the swerve on balls that i used to get with my predators. I currently use air legends. Does anyone know what boots are good for swerving balls and are not very expensive? My budget is aroung 80 usd. I have extremely wide feet so i need a wide fitting boot. Thanks

curling the ball doesn't have anything to do with what boots you are wearing its all down to technique and practice. So it doesn't really matter what boots you wear as long as you practice.

Re: Boot Review Database - ALL BOOT CHOICE QUESTIONS HERE!!

I agree somewhat appleCORR but the actual fit of the boot affects it too. My old F50s are a little long for me and I can't curl the ball as well in them as I can in more closely fitting boots.

Also bizarely my brother (who is 26) borrowed by Pulses for a game and couldn't believe the amount of curl he was getting. He is probably the person I know that is least likely to be drawn in by gimmicks or anything like that. He's a very good footballer too.

Actually i can feel the difference. I am not sure how to explain but there is a difference. I curl the ball better with my pulses and absolutes. They are too small now so i am looking for alternatives. anyway thanks for the reply.

I think a lot of this is mental and it mostly is technique. you can learn to bend the ball in legends.
the primary reason you're not getting the bend you want is the shape of legends is supremely different than abs or pulses. when you hit the ball, you're ultimately hitting it differently

    Nike Total 90 Laser Review

This is a review of the Nike Total 90 Lasers firm ground (in Zest [yellow]). These are synthetic leather, as opposed to the white Laser's authentic leather.

Sizing: The Lasers fit like any other Nike boots or shoes. I own several pairs of Nike shoes and I've only ever owned Nike boots, and my size is consistent throughout all of them (size 11). The Lasers are more spacious than the Vapors, however, and are wider. These differences are not noticeable unless you have a very narrow foot that fits the Vapors well. My feet, which are a tad wide, fill out the Lasers very well. Wear these boots in the Nike size your feet feel comfortable in.

Aesthetics: The Lasers are an attractive shoe, that reek quality upon inspection. Everything about them is carefully made--I've only owned middle-range boots before these ($90 or less) and the difference in quality is noticeable. The Zest color (yellow) is very bright and attracts a lot of attention. You will get compliments wearing them. As they are synthetic leather, they do not change color or "feel" when wet--the touch on the ball remains consistent.

Value: I bought these boots for $145 off eBay. While their list price at $185 is a little steep for me, the quality of the boot is high enough to warrant a high price tag. I personally think that close to $200 for any boot is expensive, so this may just be me. If you find them for a cheaper price and are interested in buying them, scoop them up, you get what you pay for.

Comfort: These boots will be hell when you first start wearing them, I'm gonna be honest. Yes they need to be broken in. I almost gave up on them because they gave me blisters for around a week straight. What I realized, though, was that wearing them without giving my feet a chance to heal was making the situation worse. Sure enough, I waited it out, and when I came back to play I noticed that the pain was gone, the comfort was there, and the shoes had broken in at last. I have worn them for weeks now, and I haven not developed a single blister since. They are very comfortable, fit great, and I actually play better with them on (I'm not sure if it's psychological, but I'm not complaining).

Performance: I use the Lasers almost entirely on grass, but have occasionally used them on turf. They perform consistently and magnificently each and every time. The circular rings on the sweet spot improve friction with the ball and give you a better "grip" when shooting, but don't expect a huge difference. I'm a midfielder and a forward, and the shoes help me run faster because they are relatively light and the studs are placed in a way that aids in acceleration. Sprinting off of the front of my foot feels faster in these than in my old boots. The eVent material of the tongue helps your foot breathe, but does not let water in. Under wet conditions the boots retain traction and friction. Quality throughout.

Durability: The synthetic leather looks brand new, and I've worn the boots multiple times per week for about 3 months. It does not "age" as real leather does. It is hard to scratch the shoes, but if you do, you can easily remove the scratches with any generic shoe cleaner and a rag (I haven't had to resort to nail polish remover as of yet). They hold up very well and when fully cleaned look near-perfect. As I've said before, they are made with quality and are holding up beautifully (and I don't even clean them half the time).

Accessories: The boots come with a black boot bag with a "Total 90" design on the front. The bag is of quality itself, with padding on the back so the boots don't dig into your back when wearing it, and with a little zipper pouch inside to put keys, cellphone, etc. inside.

Comparison: Because these are the first top-of-the-line boots I've ever owned, I have nothing to compare them to in their price range. I will say, however, that my old Nike Tiempo's (around $80) do not compare to them in any way, shape or form. You will see and feel the quality of a high-range boot. Treat yourself to it!

Overall Evaluation: Great boot, full price may be a bit high, but if you can afford it go for it (I'm a student so anything above $100 is a bit high for me :p). Well made, hold up very well, look great, and feel great under different conditions. Give them time and break them in, you won't be disappointed.

    9/10

I have always wanted champions league predators. I have never worn v1s or ghost strikers but i do know that predators are great boots. I am thinking of buying a pair of preds too. The preds along with my air legends are the most comfortable boots that i have worn. If i were you, i would get the predators. The black cl color is the best pred colour i have ever seen. Mizuno do make great quality boots too.

Re: Boot Review Database - ALL BOOT CHOICE QUESTIONS HERE!!

I've decided to rewrite a review I wrote a while ago in the hype of new boots. This one should be much more believable. I hope nobody minds.

Nike Mercurial Vapor III FG white/silver

Sizing: I can't comment here as they're the only boots I currently own that still fit me.

Aesthetics: This is really down to personal preference. I still love the way they look despite being covered in thick scuffs of numerous colours. You can clean this with nail polish remover if you're careful, but it never bothered me enough to do so.

Value: Where I live there is only one retailer which has them available and they took advantage of that. I paid AU$350 ($300 American?),which is outrageous but pretty much any quality boot here is $300. It's a rip off. But then all the others are too. I think they should be less than AU$300.

Comfort: I must admit, when I first bought these they were really tight. They really made the outside of my feet hurt but after a few wears they seemed to give. They wore in quite quickly. I have never had any problems with the comfort since then. There are comfier boots around with more padding but there is nothing noticable to make them uncomfortable. I have never got any blisters but many people have so be wary.

Performance: The boots are made of thin material that wears in quite well and they offer exceptional touch although I have to say that the Nike skin on previous versions is preferable to the Teijin. This is no major fuss though, because as I mentioned the touch is still quite good. A downside of the synthetic is that they tend to trap the heat in and you may find that your feet become sweaty. But soccer is played mainly in the winter months here so it's not really noticable unless your playing in summer. The studs seemed to grip well in all conditions but the upper becomes slippery in the wet, but not too slippery.

Durability: They are actually quite durable despite my doubts when I bought them. After around 40 matches and 40 training sessions plus a kick about every now and then the only damage to report is that the foam cup in the heel has begun to peel off and that the studs have worn down a little bit, but no more than the studs on any other boots would. As long as you take care of them by cleaning them after matches etc. they should last you a pretty long time.

Accessories: Not much here, just a normal nike shoe box and a nice looking boot bag.

Evaluation: They're nice, good quality boots but not to the extent that they warrant such a hefty price tag. Also, I highly recommend visiting a store and trying them out yourself before buying them. If you have narrow feet there shouldn't be any problems and if your foot is average/slightly wide you might be able to squeeze them in. You simply have to try them on first or you could be very disappointed. Don't worry about all this 'fastest boot' garbage, because that's what it is. Just because a boot is 30g lighter or something it won't make you any faster, but you can count on the grip of the studs when accelerating. I'll give them an 8/10

Re: Boot Review Database - ALL BOOT CHOICE QUESTIONS HERE!!

I think the fit of the pulses and synthetic preds is pretty different, so try them on if you can. That said, I really like Pulses even though I know a lot of people on this board weren't fond of them. They fit my feet really well, but lately the lack of leather and weird bits of plastic here and there have been annoying me. The heel is pretty tight and has some padding which the abs don't. Personally, I really like this, but if you have a wide foot it might not be good for you. The abs have a really long and pointy toe box which I dont like. I favor the more rounded toe box of the pulses. I have the cardinal db abs and the synthetic on them is pretty poor. It's pretty thick and incredibly slippery in wet conditions. My man has the 50.6s and the synthetic on them is thinner and softer. It really puts the abs to shame. I use both pairs of shoes still, but I wear the pulses more often. Hope that helps.

Forgot to add, the synthetics don't stretch very much which might also be a problem for wide feet.
