790 The Sports Animal (the local espn radio affiliate) recently ran a contest in which they asked listeners to send in emails giving them all the reasons they hate soccer. the best email was given tickets to the dynamo-dallas return game. and a short interview on the radio after/during. here is an email written by the winner after the game: message: I was the winner of the "Why I hate soccer" contest, and wanted to say thanks. Hands down, that was one of the best sporting events I have ever been to. I love watching football on tv but, honestly, there are way too many commercial breaks when you see it live. Of course, baseball is always good but it never keeps you standing for 60 minutes, yelling like a fool who knows what he is talking about. It truly was exciting from the very first minute and the action never stopped until about 120 minutes later. Thanks again for a fantastic experience! has this been tried in any of your cities? should it? i'm ecstatic about these results, just need more exposure to non soccer fans...
Yes, this was tried in Chicago and Blind Pig was the winner. We don't want him as a soccer fan , he should stick to his/her beloved BBALL and so called Football. Leave soccer alone. Go Revs.
Taking a cue from Apple, they should put him in front of the white background to talk about how he switched from Baseball to Soccer.
and even though he's been a member of bigsoccer since 1999, i don't ever remember him being this active. i wish he'd go back into hibernation and only post once in a blue moon like the good old days. seriously dude. you're giving jade a run for her money as most annoying poster on bigsoccer.
As far as I can tell, it's because she claims to be an MLS insider while giving us far less reliable info/sources than someone who really is in the know (Goff, for example). Plus, she was a "Revs fan 4 life" before deciding to become a "DC fan 4 life". Doesn't win her many brownie points with either camp. Hell, even Aimer stuck with one team.
Not in New York...it's much more likely to convert soccer fans into non-soccer fans. That was a great game and atmosphere by MLS standards. People will continue to be converted if they can see the game played at high quality in good environments.
