Re: No Tv! I guess a case could be made that all Dynamo fans should be at the game unless it is sold out then it can be on TV.
Re: No Tv! If you are a true supporter and fan.... go to the game...so no need to watch it on TV!!! lets make it a sellout... No excuses.. this is the playoffs....
Re: No Tv! Some fans have real reasons as to why they can't be at the game. I can't believe it's not going to be shown at all. Horrible.
Re: No Tv! While I'll be singing and screaming my freakin' head off tomorrow night at Roberston, it means that my old man can't watch the game which makes me a little sad. Although he never cared a lick for soccer before and didn't know a lick about it either, after going to a few games with me last year he's become a pretty big Dynamo fan and watches all the games on tv (sometimes he even calls me on the phone to talk about them when they're over... well the road games anyway). Some of ya'll might remember him from last year... he stood/sat on the edge of section 213 with me and he was probably the only person in section 213 with a cane - but his health hasn't been quite as good this season so making it into town for games just hasn't been in the cards (especially with so few Saturday night games this season... which makes it real difficult for me to drive out to where he lives to pick him up/take him home).
Re: No Tv! They were probably hoping it would get picked up nationally. When it didnt, it was probably too late to do anything.
Re: No Tv! Exactly what I was thinking. I would've thought this one would get picked up nationally between FSC and ESPN.
Dallas Bastages think they all ready have the game won. I cant wait to see them cry when we beat them. We need to sing hey hey goodbye when we are up 2-0 with 3 minutes to go.
Re: No Tv! So this part is wrong? HOUSTON DYNAMO v FC DALLAS Fri., Nov. 2, Robertson Stadium (7:30 p.m. CT; HDNet; Ch. 55) Taken from http://houston.mlsnet.com/news/team...t_id=127214&vkey=news_hou&fext=.jsp&team=t200 Not that it would surprise me as this things are often not coordinated it seems.
Re: No Tv! I thought there was a rotation, some games got on FSC, some on ESPN and some on HDNet. Maybe our Friday thing screwed them up? What does HDNet have on Friday nights they can't change? According to the FCD threads, it's all our fault that we're not on national tv. Our, as in the fans, fault. Also the fans in SJ, it's their fault too. But mostly, apparently, it's Dre's fault. And somehow it seems to be tied to the fact that we think we have more fans at games than they do, even though our average is higher (?) than their average. And we're just getting what we deserve. But then, they're also the ones that think their fans show more support than ours, and that their team can beat our team in Houston. Whatever you do, stay away from the Dallas boards. They're on drugs.
Re: No Tv! MLS isn't the NFL. You can watch it still...you just have to have DirectKick or paid to see it on MLSnet. The Dallas station is showing it locally. I don't think there was any chance of this game being viewed nationally when the game was forced to be on Friday. ESPN has the Thursday time slot and FSC has the Saturday time slot. Besides, if the first leg wasn't televised on FSC, I don't see why they would have chosen the second leg even if they could.
Toledo is the referee for the game - I was fearful it would be Brian Hall or Abbey Okaluja. Toledo had our game vs. Chivas a few weeks back. He leads the league in reds but I think he is generally decisive (for MLS refs) and keeps control. While I want the Dynamo to come out on fire, the lesson learned tonight with DC is make sure you don't concede early and go down 2 because then the bunker strategy has a much better chance of working. Those 2 brief defensive lapses cost DC a chance at the cup.
In my heart of hearts I don't see you guys advancing. The one goal deficit is quite a thing to deal with in preparation all week. And, tonight's result has got to send shivers of fear down even the most ardent supporters. I don't doubt that we will see one heck of a game played with tons of emotion.
So you think just because DC couldn't overcome a one goal deficit that the same thing is going to happen to Houston? Dallas is 0-4 at Robertson, and I feel confident that we're going to win 2-0 tomorrow with Ching and DeRo scoring.
Looking back -- overcoming the first game deficit seems to be about doing it early. We scored early against Puntarenas in College Station. We scored early against Chivas last year. We gave up early goals to Pachuca. So I think we, the fans, can really help by getting loud and excited early early to fire the boys up and get them flying out the gate. I know TA/EB will be there strong -- but those of us who dont' stand with them need to be bringing noise and energy tonight.
Uh ... we have experience with three two-legged ties. Each time the second game home team overcame a deficit to win. A one-goal lead is not enough. This match is any teams to win and our guys have outplayed FCD in every match this year, including the one where luck went against us. I like our chances.
I think it's 50/50 of who wins, but just like we are 0-4 at Robertson, Houston has also never beaten us by more than 1 goal at Robertson so something will have to give this time or else we're going to see overtime.
we've never needed to beat Dallas by more then one goal. i agree we need to score early, tie up the aggregate, then play from there. bring holden off the bench (he was shaky last week) and please don't start jacqua!! see you in 14 hours at the tailgate.
I was thinking about that too, but if that still plays out, we can beat them by one in two games tonight and still come out ok.
