RBNY goals were hard to rank because there weren't really any amazing shots, more team efforts. As for Mathis, it was a wide open shot from the penalty spot, which came after a deflection off a defender.

When half the goals are from set pieces, you're probably going to have some problems picking a top 10. I wasn't overly impressed with any of them in retrospect. Nothing like Jozy's blast last year Although I think you may have missed the boat on Angel's last one against Chicago - just a sublime piece of skill and coolness on the ball

It was off a botched shot, and he was right in front of the goal. Yes, it was a nice move, but it wasn't that amazing of a goal.
i thought for sure that angel's goal at KC would be in there....great finish off the fly if i remember correctly. Also freemans blast against dallas early in the year was a well worked goal great cross from dvdb
Can we expect a Chicago Fire fan to include a super outstanding goal that froze Armas, in HIS "best" goals of RBNY 2007? No. But certainly that goal should be included. Also Mathis' record breaker, including the fantastic buildup, should have been included.
Are you kidding me? Are you even daring to question whether that build up was fantastic?? Richards made everyone on the Galaxy look foolish AND managed to bounce the ball of Beckham's face. Fantastic is an understatement, and the goal was an effin rocket, man. Forget it. Fantastic it is.
It was fantasic but here's the thing he got the ball back after about 3 failed passes/crosses....IT was a nice show of some skill but to say it was a world class cross no... THE STRIKE well that WAS FANTASTIC
