I watched Fox Soccer Report and Fox Football Fone in and they never even mentioned that Ryan was fired! On my local sports report one of the stations had a blurb about it but I was looking or a more indepth report.

Anyone have a videolink to ANY coverage of Ryan getting fired?

Not enough people outside of these boards care enough to warrant in-depth coverage.

ESPN did an in-depth 30 second report on it, and a 5 second sound bite from Foudy. But that's it as far as I saw.

However, they did do 15 minutes on who will win the Colts vs Giants game in two weeks, so they did not have much time left.

It's not easy when you like soccer.

The BS community coverage is deep enough...Who cares more about his firing than this place?

I believe that John Hopkins talked about it after the UEFA championship game....and about Preki-Dominic incident too...

No TV about it in the DC area, but page 2 of The Washington Post sports section.

The entire WWC thing was so last month. You didn't expect them to care forever did you?

...but yeah, I've seen and heard it mentioned on television news and sports channels.

I was HOPING (HA!) for it to happen, but I thought he would end up going to the Olympics...I must admit is was a good surprise to see the Fed step up and fire him

I thought the USSF would let time and inertia take over, make a quiet contract-renewal announcement during the holidays, and keep him at least through the Olympics. I'm glad they took fairly swift action. Now I feel we at least have a chance at gold during Beijing '08.

Ditto, and given the apprent surprsie by the players of the swift action I think they likely did as well.
