I might be mixing them up with someone else, but didn't they have a kit similar to blackburns that had 4 squares 2 being black and 2 being red? Though I have a hard time remembering 11 days ago let alone 11 years ago.

I'm not stopping you, but our current logo has been with us for quite some time and identifies us. I'm not sure what changing it would accomplish.

So who paid you to make them?

And I am assuming that in the last graphic you got permission by the Revs FO to use their copyrighted logo?

In 1996 the Metros had 3 different jerseys: A black one, a white one, and a a half/half jersey with a zig-zag down the middle, not a smooth line. In all of these jerseys, there was only a little touch of red and yellow as accent colors.

In 1997, we all laughed at Charlie Stillitano's obvious Serie A envy, as the home jersey was a ripoff of AC Milan and the away was a ripoff of Juventus.

In 1998, their jersey was still red/black/white stripes, but the red stipes were much wider. This was the identical jersey also worn by Tampa Bay and LA, but in different colors.

No one in MLS ever had a "quarter" jersey, although it would have been nice if someone had gone that route.

Okay, let me point a couple things out right now.

Number one - I've been doing this internet thing for a very long time, and one of the clues I've learned is that if a person's screen name ends in a two-digit number, it's often their age or their birth year. Following this logic, you're younger than I am, so don't even pretend you're doing this "professionally."

Number two - Either English is not your first language or you just don't care about making sense. Regardless of which is true, you're not endearing yourself to us with "make you more happy." That sounds like it comes out of some Toronto-based chocolate candy. "Feel the bubbles melt!"

Number three - There are dozens, if not hundreds of threads on this very topic on the board. Use the search function to find them and spare us having to rehash for what must seem like the millionth time why your designs will not be used, will not be complimented upon much, and will not be widely respected.

Number four - The fact that MLS logos "make no sense" to you doesn't mean we should give a rat's ass. They make sense to the MLS marketing department, and to the teams themselves, and those are the only groups to whom this facet of each team matters.

As a real professional designer, there is no way that you make a living doing design work.

The VERY VERY SKINNY letterforms that are virtually non-legible is a clear indicator.

    Sorry.

P.S. My logos that I made have class with the order of soccer tradition.

I say this logo fits the profile of the team name and colors

Adam, I've done "professional" work for other peoples, including logo design, and I'm only 18. It's very possible he can be a "professional" graphic designer. Judging by his work, I'd say he isn't.

I dislike the logo, but love it at the same time. Big teams do rebrand, my Spurs just did it in fact, but I don't think it's time to change just yet.

[EDIT] Also, a British style of logo would fit us much more than a Spanish style logo.

Oh, I remember the '96 jerseys now. Didn't it have METROSTARS on the front big enough to be seen from space?

I think the "quarter" jersey I'm thinking of was actually the Galaxy jersey, which was only a half split color jersey, not quartered at all. I think there might have been another team, San Jose....

....why am I wasting my time, someone post that awesome picture showing reps from each team in those '96 kits. Some of those were great, and remind me of some of the outfits in Back To The Future 2...and by great, I mean not at all.:D

Yeah, that "half" design was used by the Galaxy (1/2 teal, 1/2 black, with gold and red as accent colors) and Sad Jose who had half white and half "celery green" (which was only slightly more palatable than the Mutiny's anti-freeze green). They also had a light turquoise, black, yellow and red as accent colors.

Tampa and Dallas had the identical Nike jerseys as well, but in a different style. Dallas had red, black and white, with a little bit of olive green. Tampa had a light green jersey, with dark blue, sky blue and a little bit of yellow.

Man those were some hideous uniforms!

    Wow.

Best of luck dude. Hope you have a parachute for your fall back to reality.

Here's a design tip: you usually don't want to piss off the people you would be to whom you would be selling your ideas... I guess that's really more common sense than a design tip.

Lil Dude best be the league's leading scorer or he'll be ridiculed for the next century for playing on a girls team.

Seeing as how this discussion drifted off to uniform changes of the past...

I always wondered why they change it. (noob question, I know, but halloween ended early tonight, and I'm bored) Why can't they stick to one uniform for a while? Why can't they suffer like we poor high shoolers do and stick to wearing uniforms older then I am? I liked the uniform we had in 2002... the ones we got in 2005 had no flash or flavor to them, imo (guess that happens when you take away the red socks). I luv the jersey we got this year... plus, I bought one and had it modified. It was a mighty lovely Christmas that year.

A question I hope some cool hooligan can answer... ...pleaze

True be told, we really haven't had a heck of a lot of uniform variations, save the red shirt/blue shorts of one season (1999 or 2000 I believe). For the most part, we've been all blue with a few minor variations. The changes were mostly due to changing which company designed them.

The 2002 uniform was cool and the current one is Adidas's take on it. The 2005 kit was a rush job due to the league-wide deal with Adidas. Hopefully, the new ones next year stick with the blue shirt/red sides thing.

Oh, and they do a planned change at least every two years to sell shirts. That's standard.

I may be loud, boorish, and frequently drunk, but I'm no hooligan.
