First I hope I didn't give anything away with the thread title and no [R]...I assume by now everyone knows we made it. OK, predict tomorrow's attendance...far more fun than in past seasons, because of the new variables. The pros: Super Sting says Blanco will draw 27,000 people himself, with 7,000 turned away at the door because Peter Wilt didn't build the stadium big enough. It's D.C. and we always beat D.C. People have creative signs to get on ESPN2. People now know that Toyota Park is at 71st and Harlem from the last 6 or 7 games. The cons: Playoff games never draw because of weather. Playoff games never draw because of lack of group sales. Beckham's not playing. It's four days notice. The neutrals: Guppy says minimum of 16,000 MLS doesn't pad attendance figures nearly like they used to. I'll throw out the opening guess: 12,406.
20,111 If Guppy is telling the truth atleast 16,000 (that's before all the Club America and Mexican fans have bought tickets, they like to get tickets day (night) of the game. So I could see a 4,000 walkup crowd easy).
Yeah I say sell out, especially with Blanco Beating Becks. The Blanco Fans are going to be full force and it will be an amazing atmosphere, night games means more alcohol consumption. lol. I love the Fire and I love having the best supporters in MLS (Toronto is still to be judged, next 5 years we will see.)
I called for tickets today and many mid-sections were sold out. Also, the corner kick areas had little to offer. It seems there will be a great atmosphere and crowd there. Go FIRE! Mace
I just checked ticketmaster, and there are still cornerkick and midfield seats left, but not premier midfield. Does anyone know if they ever opened up the terrace level? There aren't tickets available online, so I'm thinking no.
Wow, I really expected a sellout for this game. You guys have drawn great as of late. I know it's an out of package game, but with the momentum you guys have had, and Blanco I just figured you'd be able to pack the house. Here's to hoping you do, and we'll try and return the favor.
With all the walkups from the Blanco fans out there that don't have season tix this year... This might be a sellout. And I hope it is.
More or less than whatever number comes to mind. Seriously I can NEVER predict these things. All I know for sure is more than 2.
All I know Section 8 (118) is sold out and there will be a huge overflow into adjacent sections--we'll need at least 100 seats in 117. I really hope Blanco fans will show up in full force. A sell out would be wonderful. The atmosphere is guaranteed to be unforgettable. Bring everybody you can. Your grandparents, too.
Hmmm, bringing six buddies but we were going to buy the day of once we all got there. Do you guys really think it will sell out? We wanted to make sure we got seats together. Now I'm worried we won't sit together or get in. Same guys were all there for the US Open Cup final last year. First game we'll all be at since then.
If I were bringing a friend or two, I'd just go -- you could always scalp or get an SRO ticket. But six people? Buy ahead of time. It'd be ridiculous to get there and not find 6 tickets together, even if it's an outside chance, and 6 people in standing room isn't going to be fun the way two or three people would - you won't be able to talk to each other. As of today (Wednesday), you could call 888 MLS-FIRE and they'd leave tickets at Will Call for you. I don't know if you can call MLS FIRE on day of game, though.
