did I see a different game? I was watching on Setanta - the foul on Gerrard in the box was as clear as day. The everton player was not only blatantly pulling his shirt, but then he clipped his thigh. I don't care if you think Gerrard dives or not - but there aren't many players that will be able to stay up after something like that. The red came as a function of the fact the Everton player was the last man. That's the rule. As if Gerrard's 2 seconds of conversation really made a difference. Even the announcers understood why it was a red.
I hope you're joking. Wanting a player to hurt another is just plain stupid. Must say we were lucky to win. The Everton PK's were both deserved, but we were lucky to not have given up 2 of them. Lescott was clearly taken down by Carra.
Where's yer sensa huma, la? I suppose the concept of humor is not really a high priority in the Great White North but I am sure that was a bit of Scouse highjinks. And Lescott had done a bit of falling already and I think the center may have thought it was more of the same -- frankly, I didn't see it at all in real time and it is entirely possible that the center had no view at all. The AR did not signal for a foul either. By the way the picture above clearly shows Kuijt pulling his leg back and showing the tops of his boots not the studs -- yellow every time regardless of what The Alien and Silly Philly have to say.
That picture proves nothing. Infact if you look at it properly it seems more a case of Neville sweeping Kuyts legs, and he's the one that should have been sent off. Well thats my story and sticking to it.
If you look at the photo of Kuijt and Neville, you can see the linesman looking very intently at the play. I don't know whether he had the best vantage point, but if Cberg had any question about whether to issue a card, there were four eyes watching.
Havn't seen that movie in so long, guess I missed that one. Us Canucks are not funny? Jim Carrey, Mike Myers, whole SCTV cast, John Candy, Martin Short....
Bobby McMahon just gave an excellent analysis on FSC News of the hows and whys of the Gerrard substitution---Momo had been working on keeping Arteta at bay and then he came off, then Arteta was moved and Riise brought forward as more of an attacking midfielder....Rafa then countered w/ Lucas and Pennant as an attacking move....I can't quite quote exactly as Bobby M. did but it all made sense as he explained it.
Look, everybody knows Klingons have the strength of 10 humans. There is no way that Carra could pull Lescott to the ground if he didn't want to go down.
Having indulged with the cuckolded spouse wingeing from the Bitters, some papers have clearly had enough and some of them are beginning to tak ethe piss. I especially enjoyed this snorter from Michael Henderson of the Telegraph.
