A substitute brought on before it's too late? That's not the Rafa way

Looks like this physically edged game could not have come at a worse time with injuries, internationals, etc. Sadly to say I think Rafa is going to field one of his weaker sides this term, though not out of choice, but need. I hope that we can manage to get our problems with first ball touches (Tottenham, Marseille) combated and start piecing the slick connections together that we saw early on in the season.

I think the team may look like this
    Reina,
    Finnan—Carra—Arbs—JAR,
    Pennant—Gerrard—Masch—Babel,
    Kuyt and Voronin.
Would love to see Torres if he is fit in time to play with Kuyt up front.

All in, let's hope that the recent international break does exactly the opposite of what the last one did.

And of course Moyes' tactics are to stop any first time passing flow from Liverpool. So, given the make up of their team, look out for more injuries after this one.

We do need the 3 points more than a middle of the league smaller club and that seems to be our undoing.

Good luck for the derby! I hope to see Borussia & Liverpool as derby winners this weekend (we are playing Cologne on Monday in a sold out Borussia Park).

Typical derby so far. We look pretty toothless in attack.

Very disapointing display thus far. Right side defensively is getting torn apart, and balls into the box are not being dealt with. Gerrard is getting involved, but that's about it offensively.

Well I had a feeling before the match that Hyypia might get a goal....just didn't thing he put it in the wrong net.....

    Sissoko is killing me!

If the object of the game was to kick the ball into space towards the opposition's corner flag we'd be way ahead.....I've counted like 5 times that we've kicked the ball forward to no one!!! FFS!!!!!

The Danish commercials were a lot more entertaining. They couldn't string four passes together it seemed like, and Voronin and Kuyt do not make a good partnership. I think they both like to drop deep a lot, leaving no one up top.
I'm not sure Momo and Masch is a good idea in the middle of the park either.

Someone needs to shut down Lescott.

Hibbert takes down Gerrard, and draws a red card and a penalty for his trouble!
