Re: Consolidated Clark thread (punishment, alibis, support, etc) Not at all...to be honest even if he did. I have a great jersey from the man who helped give Houston an MLS CUP!
Re: Consolidated Clark thread (punishment, alibis, support, etc) How about buying the authetic jersey with his name like I did? At least when I travel 'round the world people will still comment about the team name, color and/or his name.
Re: Consolidated Clark thread (punishment, alibis, support, etc) Paul was very instrumental in our winning run to the championship last year. There is no shame at all in wearing his jersey. I would wear it with pride.
Re: Consolidated Clark thread (punishment, alibis, support, etc) I'm really worried that the Hawaiin that didn't play his college soccer in San Jose and played professionally in LA, San Jose, and Seattle (right?) and is a USMNT player will have Dom to leave him unprotected in the expansion draft so that he can be chosen by the San Jose team because he has so many ties to San Jose!
Re: Consolidated Clark thread (punishment, alibis, support, etc) My only concern is that a player or two will have their heart set on going back. I don't think that's Ching or DeRo, but there may be one. I am more concerned that we'll lose Clark to Europe than what the new SJ franchise will take from us. We were all freaked out because we were the team with all the Canadians in MLS last year and look how that turned out. As long as we keep DK, then I have no worries about losing former EQ's.
Re: Consolidated Clark thread (punishment, alibis, support, etc) there was a segment about Rico on Gol TV's American Soccer show this morning. they were very pro-punishment and there was alot of "he's lucky he didn't go to jail" talk they've got a poll up on the homepage, go stick up for Rico! http://www.goltv.tv/en_index.php scroll down, it's on the right.
Re: Consolidated Clark thread (punishment, alibis, support, etc) I've done my part, it looks like over 55% of the people voted like I did.
Re: Consolidated Clark thread (punishment, alibis, support, etc) It's up to 56.71% now. And those a-holes on GOLTV where saying it wasn't enough, or at least the chubby one was saying that. The truth is that Rico has said he wished he hadn't done what he did, and nine games are not going to turn back time. If the MLS wanted to protect players they should have not let Ruiz on the field no further than the first half since he was fouling people and fighting with the Ref. all game long. the jerks on GOLTV could not figure out what set Rico off ?? The foul to the back of the ankles, for starters you dipshyts !!!
Re: Consolidated Clark thread (punishment, alibis, support, etc) The other night on Fox Football Fone-In, they were interviewing the DC coach and were talking about Rico and his punishment, the hosts were trying to get him to agree that the punishment was excessive, and it sounded like he wanted to agree but not go against the Comish. He did say that he knew Rico and knows that was completely out of character, but then said it was something the league doesn't need so maybe that was the way to make sure it doesn't happen.
Re: Consolidated Clark thread (punishment, alibis, support, etc) Bad news folk, it's down to 50.58 %. It looks like the "scared of Dynamo" crowd have started voting. Just can't keep a good team down though. Sports media always thrives on controversy and if they can't find it, they try to make it. Clark's reaction was easier for those lazy bastiges to blowup then all the crap la pescadita pulls during a game. And if they told the full truth there'd be no victim, just two guys slugging it out. Unfortunately for the truth, and all the folks who couldn't watch the game, the standard media template demands a villain and a victim, which isn't what happened. Not at all.
Re: Consolidated Clark thread (punishment, alibis, support, etc) GOLtv should have a poll guessing Phil Schoen's weight or asking people when Phil might see his toes again (2008, 2009, never). That clown ripped on Rico last week arguing that a paddywagon should have come out and taken him away.
Re: Consolidated Clark thread (punishment, alibis, support, etc) Clark is going to be on Glenn Davis' show tonight, Ch 55 at 6 p.m.
Re: Consolidated Clark thread (punishment, alibis, support, etc) Can someone please tell us what Clark says on the show for those of us not in Houston?
Re: Consolidated Clark thread (punishment, alibis, support, etc) I missed it last night, it re-airs tonight but I'll be out. I'm sure it'll be up on youtube soon. http://youtube.com/user/TheDynamoReport
Re: Consolidated Clark thread (punishment, alibis, support, etc) Has anyone heard anything on Ricardo's appeal? I thought the appeal was supposed to be yesterday. Just wondering if anyone had heard any news.
Re: Consolidated Clark thread (punishment, alibis, support, etc) I just searched the news for word on Clark's appeal and didn't find anything from today or yesterday. I did, though, find this article from ESPN which I thought was interesting and don't think it's been posted here. It would be interesting to post it on the FC boards too so the people who think we're the only ones who say Ruiz is a disgrace can read it too. Though I'm sure they still wouldn't get it.... http://soccernet.espn.go.com/columns/story?id=471675&root=mls25&cc=5901
Re: Consolidated Clark thread (punishment, alibis, support, etc) He must be a Dynamo fan/criminal. Or at least was reading this board.
Re: Consolidated Clark thread (punishment, alibis, support, etc) You're not too far off. If I remember correctly, he used to be the Earthquakes writer way back in the day...or at least is from that area. OK, I can't remember exactly but I'm pretty sure he followed the Earthquakes in the past in some capacity be it professionally or personally.
Re: Consolidated Clark thread (punishment, alibis, support, etc) I just saw the Guatemala- Mexico game. what I don't understand is why would you make someone like La Pescadita the captain of your team?? He got red carded in the match for pulling a Mexican player's hair.
Re: Consolidated Clark thread (punishment, alibis, support, etc) dammit you beat me to it!!!!! you were up early. i noticed something i hadn't noticed before. Ruiz jumps up for 50-50 balls when he has no chance of getting to the ball. i'm not saying you shouldn't jump....i appreciate the hustle, but its what he does afterwards. he does his best to "land" on the opposing player. since i don't know him personally i can't say he's a total douchebag and does it to injure the opposing player, i don't think he does. but he probably does it to provoke/frustate the opposing player into a scuffle and possible yellow/red. the camera/me caught him doing it twice last night. i do know he is a pssy. he came behind the mexican player to pull his hair when he wasn't looking.
Re: Consolidated Clark thread (punishment, alibis, support, etc) Hehe You have to get up early in the morning to catch the Bandido's worm, or something like that Anyways, look: I hate that SOB with a passion, but I can be fair....sometimes. and let me tell you, that Pescadita punk is worthless. I saw him kick defenders in the back after he had no chance of getting to the ball. I saw that chump looking over his shoulder to see where the defender was, and then push back way before the ball ever made it to where he was at. This goes to what Rico had to endure with this faker. La Pescadita looks to not only get under your skin, he looks to injure you first and see if he gets the ball after that. Now some players will seek to give him payback with a foul and take a yellow for it. Rico didn't look to get back at him at the run of play, he just exploded after one too many kicks and punches, and if Rico would've waited for that clown to get up in order to slap him like the biatch he is........he would still be waiting
Re: Consolidated Clark thread (punishment, alibis, support, etc) Lately he's started doing something else strange, he gets right in on free kicks and corner kicks, way too close and lunges at them before they're kicked, he's gotten called for it in both our games with Dallas but keeps doing it. I hate the punk. And good question, why is he a captain???
Re: Consolidated Clark thread (punishment, alibis, support, etc) Note to self: Do not get up early in the morning since that's when Bandido wants his worm caught.
Re: Consolidated Clark thread (punishment, alibis, support, etc) Oh, I hate to drop names on you ladies, but Glen and I were chatting on his radio show last night. he says he hasn't heard anything new on the Rico's appeal but doubts it will go anywhere. He told me not to expect to see Rico this season That's right before I threw my radio against the wall, so I didn't catch the rest of the show
