Can someone define for me what Greg Ryan means by this and what Hope Solo might have to do to accomplish it?

    rec·on·cile ,[IMG]-ciled, -cil·ing.
–verb (used with object) 1.to cause (a person) to accept or be resigned to something not desired: He was reconciled to his fate. 2.to win over to friendliness; cause to become amicable: to reconcile hostile persons. 3.to compose or settle (a quarrel, dispute, etc.). 4.to bring into agreement or harmony; make compatible or consistent: to reconcile differing statements; to reconcile accounts. 5.to reconsecrate (a desecrated church, cemetery, etc.). 6.to restore (an excommunicate or penitent) to communion in a church. –verb (used without object) 7.to become reconciled.

I didn't get the reconciliation part of Solo's statement about why she wasn't dressing for the match(es). She's either not a part of the team or she is - what's with this purgatory crap about sitting in street clothes on the bench? She should either stay away from this series entirely, or she should be in uniform.

These are pointless exhibition matches; if there is any good time for the team to put this behind them, it's now. I don't see what this wishy-washy display is accomplishing.

Maybe this way they don't have to pay her.

grovel like a dog, ask for forgiveness multiple times, whip yourself in public humiliation and shame, allow them to charecterize you as an unstable child...then maybe Ryan will let her hang around the team for awhile as a bench-warmer, where she can continue to be shunned by her teamates, until she has another breakdown and is moved out of there by the team shrink...I'm surprised they didn't have her fetching water over to the players on the bench during the Mexico game, would have added a nice touch.

I just don't get it. I have attempted to find just what Solo did different than what Scurry did, other than telling it like it is about Ryan. She indirectly slammed Scurry, but Scurry did the same to Mullinix. Nobody dumped on Scurry.

And just for the record, the US would not have won the World Cup it the referee would have called Scurry for encroachment. She was a full two steps off of her line, but that is OK, 'cause everybody does it. According to Ms Scurry.

I don't understand why there is a need for a public apology to the fans. I believe that 90% of the fans would like to see a public apology from the team and from Ryan. Of course that will never come because they were the victims of all of this anyway.

If Hope decided to complete her contractual obligations, tell the whole bunch of ecocentric diva (excuse the oxymoron) to take a long walk on a short plank. She should resign from the team, it would be the best thing she could do for herself mentally and to keep in match condition. Otherwise she will probably sit, while Scurry or Barnhart perform to their age levels.

90% of which fans? If that's the case, they were in short supply at the game last night. very very few anti Ryan, etc signs.

Why would she (or anyone) give up something that has been a dream for her and has worked so hard to accomplish. She also gets paid pretty well, plus endorsements and speaking/coaching engagements. That would all end. Its time for her to swallow hard and get back into the squad. She potentially will have a long career (goalies can play well into their mid to late 30's) and Ryan will not be the coach forever.

Well actually a huge Scurry-crush is why that tool Norfolk added "late" otherwise it would have just been (more accurately) mid-30s. Also said tool (here's why I'm using that non-swearing word) was here posting the whole time and then put that post up like they were there and saw first hand a lack of anti-Ryan signs, like the big "Ladies Your Coach Failed You" one for instance.

True, and convenient, especially when there's a coach who worked so hard to give up the dream for her.

I was there and have posted my impressions here. And photos from all the signs I saw (and I looked real hard) here.

They've officially turned the USWNT into a kindergarten class! First, Hope doesn't get to eat her milk and cookies with the other kids, now she doesn't get to play at recess. I smell potty monitor duty for little Hopey! Anyone know who's a mom on the team?

Freakin' hilarious!!! I hope Ryan and company doesn't read it, they might get some ideas and actually have Solo fetchin' their drinks, shining their shoes, dabbing their heads with towels, etc! RUN HOPE! RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kinda reminds you of "Monty Python and the Holy Grail". "Well, she turned me into a newt."
"You don't look like a newt."
    "I got better"

Actually I added late thirties because thats how long the men go ie Lehmann and Keller, so you are wrong on that guess.

I never said I was at the game, I based that comment on another poster who wrote a report about the game.

Posted by Jayy - Approximately 10900 fans in attendance.
    - Overwhelmingly families and younger girls in attendance.
    - Literally only a handful of people that seemed to know or care about what went on with Hope et al (No real visible acknowledgement of things). No booing of anyone...period.
    - 3 Signs that were kinda funny and pointed. Two local soccer fans that I met named Justin and Ben brought a lifesize stormtooper cutout with Hope's face on it. They also had a sheet with "Ladies your coach failed you" Third was a sign that I held at various points "Hope Apologized, "The Team" Ostracized" End Quote.

If you can find evidence otherwise, please do so.

I won't lower myself to add insults in my reply.

After reading a lot of your posts on this subject, I think you should insult yourself.

I think the beef Solo is not going to go away anytime soon. Because you know how sorority sisters punish each other. Silent treatment. ...
