No hatin' now - you know who I mean! Here's the YA link: http://www.yanks-abroad.com/content.php?mode=news&id=2696 "The plan with Tally is for him to train with (Winde) and be the #1 in the future," stated Poulsen. ********** Once again, congrats to all here who helped get the job done.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tally_Hall Tally Hall From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Tally Hall refers to more than one article: Tally Hall, an American rock band. Tally Hall, an American goalkeeper in football playing in Esbjerg fB. ********** Now, that was fast! Was that your doin' Mr. V?
And last but not least, I blew this one past everyone (I guess). Newly acquired knowledge from Wikipedia: "Tally Hall used to call themselves a "wonky rock band" but now prefer the made up term "fabloo," as they did not want people to characterize wonkiness." ********** Convergence!
The Seattle area is becoming to goalkeepers what Penn State used to be for linebackers. Keller, Hahnemann, Hall. And yet, the University of Washington has never had a goalkeeper in MLS. Strange.
Thanks for the credit, but no it wasn't me. I should take the glory, though. What's funny is that I was all set to make an entry on Wiki but someone beat me to it. Bastard! Whoever it was they must lurk these boards
Guys, thanks for the info about Tally. I'm sure he has what it takes to challenge our no 1 keeper Winde in the future for a place in the starting 11. /Claus
Re: Tally Hall off to Denmark Hall (and Seitz) called into Bradley's U23 camp. http://www.ussoccer.com/articles/viewArticle.jsp_281687.html Hall, Tally GK 6’4” 205 05/12/85 Gig Harbor, Wash. Esjberg FB (Denmark) ********** On the 20-man roster, Hall is the only foreign-based player to be called in, apparently.
Cross-posting, to complete the thought: So Hall will train with the U-23's but will not travel to Japan.
The is good. I was afraid Tally would head off to Japan hurting his chances with his new club right off the bat. Tally has a big task in front of him and he has a position to win in Denmark. I imagine Esjberg will open up their winter camp soon, so Tally is probably expected to be off to Europe soon.
Brief YA update ... http://www.yanks-abroad.com/content.php?mode=news&id=2856 .... "The youngster is under the tutelage of veteran #1 Lars Winde, learning more and more by the day. "There are some things I am picking up during training," explained Hall. "I need to become more comfortable with the team, especially defenders, to know what they are thinking so I can move myself to a better position that makes the goal smaller, things like that." ....
YA has him on the bench for some matches, not even that for others (recently). Anyone have an update to share?
Nothing new to report, I assume. Any chance Bradley will call Hall in (as a back-up) for next week's match v. Sweden?
Persistence pays off ... http://njmg.typepad.com/sbi/2007/10/adu-szetela-to-.html#more .... Here are some of the other players who have been called in for the Switzerland match: Freddy Adu Michael Bradley Steve Cherundolo Maurice Edu Benny Feilhaber Marcus Hahnemann Tally Hall Eddie Lewis Chris Seitz Danny Szetela Sal Zizzo .... ********** How sweet it is ...
Charge me guilty of dredging up an old thread, but I believe Dusty Hudock had a couple of brief stints in MLS.
Thank you, Ives ... http://njmg.typepad.com/sbi/2007/10/so-who-are-tall.html#more .... Hall is a highly-rated goalkeeper out of San Diego State who passed up MLS for a chance to ply his trade in Europe. MLS scouts were high on him and some sources tell me he would have been picked ahead of Chris Seitz in the 2007 draft had he signed with the league. He's a 6-foot-4 goalkeeper who signed with Esjberg of the Danish League after turning down an offer from French club Metz. He isn't starting for Esjberg but sources tell me he's in a good battle for the starting job. He was called in to the U.S. Under-23 team last winter. He's just 22 and regarded as a top contender to be on the Olympic team. ....
LA Daily News reports today that Tally Hall is in negotiations with Los Angeles (which holds his MLS rights). If they sign him, he would compete with Steve Cronin for the starting job. This is good news for MLS - IMO, Hall was a better prospect last year than any senior college goalie in the 2008 draft. Although it sounds like he hasn't gotten very far in Denmark.
Cronin is extremely talented. If he can overcome his inconsitency problems with regular playing time, Hall will be the backup.
LA just drafted GK Matt Allen. Not sure if he's supposed to be ready yet or not, but I hope Hall stays overseas.
Tally Hall is apparently out with a shoulder injury. http://www.efb.dk/fodbold/nyheder/n....html?tx_ttnews[backPid]=172&cHash=bc99d55a76
I looked around the Esbjerg site trying to figure out how much he played up to the injury, but I 'm not sure I trust the stats they have posted for him. I believe it claims he has 0 matches (kampe), but 1 yellow card (gult kort). Someone closer to the team or that can read Danish well enough to decipher match reports/lineups will have to fill us in.
