in short... yeah... the new Zizou tag is extra... but he is an excellent player...

dont think any English club signs him tho... especially not Arsenal for that price

ah, the transfer thread is resurrected.

I like Nasri. We'll see how Rosicky does between now and January and if Wenger wants to add any depth on the left. Maybe Modric, maybe Nasri could be brought in. who knows. too early to really talk about it.

Nasri is definitely going in the right direction. Great player, needs to move out of Marseille to get to the next level. Although flooded with CMs he would be a great addition to the team. Unless, Liverpool make a bid in January (bid wars!), I see him moving to a bigger club next season (after Euro 2008).

I signed Nasri in Football Manager last year. I'm a fan, I think we should do it to get some more support on the left.

nasri is a killer player. he is great for OM and he even performed well for france earlier this year

    sanga--gallas--touré--clichy
    -------------------------------
    -----------diarra-------------
    -------------------------------
    ----fabregas-diaby/denilson
    -------------------------------
    ------------nasri-------------
    -------------------------------
    ----van persie-adebayor----

that would be a fun team to watch but it leaves the question of what to do with hleb and rosicky. they could definitely succeed in that AM role but le boss seems to have other plans for them. also, if diaby played over denilson, eight of ten field players would speak french. as interesting as this wild speculation is, i'd be surprised if nasri actually came. who knows though

that is the other funny thing... its like Wenger is angling to be the French National Team coach or something... if we were to sign Nasri, he would be coaching the 2010 French National team probably starting line up... Diarra, Diaby, and Nasri... then Clichy and Sagna at fullback and Gallas at CB... amazing

Well since Nasri is tipped to be the future of France, there is a good chance our friend Domenech will put some pressure on him to come here and develop some chemistry with diarra/diaby.

    Latest liverpool acquisition

How did wenger let pool get to this one before us? Seriously monsieur wenger, you dropped the ball big time on this. It's time to put that 70m transfer chest to work and get someone better.

Knowing us it will probably be some little known 20 year old from france though...

Nasri would be an excellent pickup. Signing him would really make selecting the midfield an interesting task for Mr. Wenger.

I would love to see that happen which means there is about a 99.9% chance it won't.

But I won't complain since Mr. Wenger did catch Sagna and Diarra this summer.

Because Wenger doesn't have a terribly interesting task of choosing his midfield now???

    My wish list:

In: Mexes (Toure at ACN and Gallas' injury problems..why not??), Nasri, Djourou (back from loan), Given
    Out: Senderos, Lehmann, Hoyte

Why Hoyte? He's a solid player, doesn't moan about not starting games, and does well as a backup when people get injured.

Mexes makes way too much money.

Given is too old for Wenger.

Senderos is still young and may find his 05/06 form again.

Yeah, there's no reason to get rid of Senderos and Hoyte, who are still young, and there's no reason to get Given, as he's a million years old.

Getting Nasri would be a dream but it isn't going to happen because Real Madrid and Inter will outbid us.

We're the second richest club in Europe! Or is it England?

Either way, you're probably right. But maybe he'll just want to come here for Wenger... We can always hope.

Wenger could afford him but he wouldn't want to pay it. Ribery is a better player than Nasri and we passed on him. Nasri will cost more than what Bayern paid for Ribery.

I'm not sure Ribery is better than Nasri. Nasri is younger, and has more potential in my mind. I think Ribery's a bit overrated, and I'm glad we didn't get him.

Richest in england, second richest in Europe behind Madrid in terms of revenues. We have the highest cash balances sitting in the bank though of any team in Europe though.

While we still won't try and outbid Real madrid, or inter - we can hope the lure of wenger, and forming a club level relationship with his future france midfield and defense partners will do the trick.

If we do bid for him, I'm sure he would choose us, but would we actually make a solid offer for him in the first place?

He's French, so that increases the chances by about 50%...

But we've heard of him before, so that reduces chances by 75%...

    So... probably not.

AW is going to sign him....he'll probably be our lone move in Jan. but a hell of a move it's going to be.

On another note we are beat to shit for tomorrows game.

    Hleb (obviously)

Ad-e-bay-or! (bruised thigh) AW said it was worse Sunday so he faces a late test.

    Flamini! (Groin injury Sat.)

    Diaby (Ankle) late test.

    Eduardo (groin) late test

    Still out....

    Rosie
    Gallas (captain)
    Lehmann.

Liverpool at the end of the month! We need to sort this.

And of course Cesc keeps in ticking (knocks on wood)

we wont get nasri - coz we've heard of him. 3 years ago if we'd have bought him, i wouldn't have been surprised but now.... well, he's already made his international debut, so surely he's out the question?! seriously though, he would be a great signing for us.

and why Hoyte out?? we need some English blood surely. on current form, i don't think we need to sell anyone at the moment!!!!!!!
